Stampin' Addicts retiring Blog Hop - Under the Stars

Welcome to Stampin' Addicts' Retiring Blog Hop where we are featuring different sets from the newly released retiring list.  If you are hopping in order you just came from Katherine's site My Magical Inkery Tour where she featured Pony Party!  Don't you just love that set and her super cute projects?!!?  Or if you are starting here just follow the links at the bottom of this post and you can complete the hop as we all circle back!

I am showcasing the set Under the Stars and I have always loved this and use it all the time!!  This first card is really simple and perfect for a sleepover for the guys.  I used the bear and sleeping bags as my focus and water colored them with my water color crayons and aqua painter.  The garden green base I used the square lattice embossing folder to give it some texture.

This next card my seem a bit strange but it has a bit of a story to it.  Some of you know I'm a huge zombie fan it almost equals my skull obsession. My favorite Zombie movies are the Resident Evil movies and as a homage to where it all started I just had to use that little raccoon as a symbol for Raccoon City!!  So this card will be an anniversary card for my Hubby which is why it has a classy feel to it.

My last project is a gift idea since S'Mores are such a popular camping treat!  But I know we love to eat them even when we are not camping so this is one of those micro makers to use at home.  I took some card stock to create a wrapper around the box as well as some ribbon.  And if course what gift isn't complete with out a cute little tag and what better to use then the s'more stamp!?!

I hope you have enjoyed my projects but now it's time to hop on over to Rubber Stamping & Card Making with Yapha where she made some amazing projects using Season of Friendship!!  Happy Stamping!!

Baby Steps Hybrid Scrapbook Page

To go with the gift I shared the other day I started out by making an oversized card but in the end it become this cute 6x6 scrapbook page.  I made the elephants again by using the set Baby Steps in My Digital Studio so I could get them the right size and colors.  I then printed them out and added clear embossing powder over them to keep them from fading. I then cut them out and layered them on a piece of whisper white cardstock.  Then I went about creating the page by adding in different green colored cardstock, ribbon, and buttons.  Love how it came out and my friend ended up framing it for the baby's room.  Happy Stamping!!

Baby Wall Hanging

I got this cute wall hanging idea from Heidi Baks and I knew I was going to recreate her project for a friend of mine!  She was due to have her little "peanut" as they called him in March and this was part of the gift I made her.  I created it using My Digital Studio software, Baby Step digital download and some fabric that matched their baby decor.  I printed  two elephants out then used them as patterns for my fabric then I added several accessories to help tie it in all together.  I did hand stitch everything so it's not exactly perfect but I love how it came out and so did my friend!!  Happy Stamping!!

Another Purse

I know I said I would do a tutorial for this cute little purse and it's still on my to do list. I haven't had much stamping time in the last few months and this was one I created a bit ago. And yes I used that dreaded paisley print DSP as much as I have used this paper I still have a half pack left. BUT this purse came out super cute!! Happy Stamping!!

Spring Buttons

I got this set Button Buddies for free and it wasn't originally on my list but I've had fun using it! I stamped the flower image a couple of times in Daffodil Delight for a nice spring color and it goes nicely with Marina Mist. (I sure do wish it was spring here!!!!!!!!!) I added some buttons in brown shades to bring in some additional color. I thought the best sentiment for this card was a thinking of you which could be used for a variety of reasons. Happy Stamping!!

Birthday Goal

This card was made for a friend of my Son's Birthday and I love how it came out!! It was made using Goal and Extreme Elements. I went with the soccer theme since the boys are team mates for club soccer and their team color is green. It's a good card for that tween stage that can be so hard to create for. Happy Stamping!!

Happy Easter!!

Here are a couple of milk carton egg boxes I made for gifts. I of course use the milk carton die and punch a whole out of the front to create a window. I added a bit of cellophane to it to help keep my candy egg inside. The only stamping on the project was the Easter saying everything else was done with punches!

I hope that each of you are enjoying your day with Friends and Family! Happy Stamping!!

Creative Crew - April Scrapbook Focus

Here is the info if you would like to join us on this months scrapbook challenge!

CCREW0412SF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Scrapbook Inspiration Focus
Make a mini scrapbook album--there are several samples here or on the internet. Use the 2010-2012 In Colors, and pattern packs. What a nice way to say good-bye to these colors.

I have quite a large stash of coin envelopes .. we won't say exactly how many so that's how I decided what type of mini scrapbook I was going to make. I used 6 envelopes for the guts so that I can make cards to slide in and out of each pocket to attach photos to. But for right now I am just sharing the cover of my album. I used the set Vintage Vogue and stamped them in Peach Parfait and Concord Garpe then cut each piece out, I also used Pear Pizzazz. I'm going to be sorry these colors are retiring!! I added some pearls and buttons to the flowers to make them pop a bit more and added the ribbon to tie it all in. I think it's so pretty that I don't think I'm going to give it away just yet!! Happy Stamping!!

Creative Crew - April Holiday Focus

Here is my next creative crew project.

If you would like to join the challenge here is the info - CCREW0412HF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Holiday Focus
Mom and Dad, Mum and Dad, Mom or Dad. Remember those that gave us life. Make a card, a scrapbook page or a decor item that honors Mom or Dad or both. Continue using the In Colors as your main colors.

I wanted to create a card for my Mom and Dad and since their anniversary is just around the corner. I used the set Elements of Style which is perfect for an anniversary card especially the sentiment "Life is a matter of Moments". I used concord crush since that was their color when they were married and then I paired it with pear pizzazz. I embossed the concord piece with the vintage wallpaper embossing folder. I watercolored the flowers to give it the shades as well as added a bit of shimmer paint to make it sparkle just a bit. I think they will love this card!! Happy Stamping!

Creative Crew - April Color Focus

Time for some more Creative Crew projects. Sadly this is my last month on the crew but there are some wonderful designers running the next 4 months but I'll still join in for the challenges!!

Here's the infor for the Color challenge if you would like to join us. - CCREW0412DF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Color Focus Use 2010-2012 In Colors and the sketch below (ignore the title of this sketch) for the color focus. Make sure you incorporate your Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack for these In Colors.

For this card I used the set Sweet Cake which is a great set to use with the bright colors. I used Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz and Poppy Parade. The card itself was pretty simple just stamped the image a few times and cut and layered it to give it more dimension. What's amazing to me is the card actually looked like the sketch ... I don't usually do well with sketches. I did add a little iridescent ice to the cupcake, it needed some sparkle. Happy Stamping!!
