Creative Crew - April Scrapbook Focus

Here is the info if you would like to join us on this months scrapbook challenge!

CCREW0412SF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Scrapbook Inspiration Focus
Make a mini scrapbook album--there are several samples here or on the internet. Use the 2010-2012 In Colors, and pattern packs. What a nice way to say good-bye to these colors.

I have quite a large stash of coin envelopes .. we won't say exactly how many so that's how I decided what type of mini scrapbook I was going to make. I used 6 envelopes for the guts so that I can make cards to slide in and out of each pocket to attach photos to. But for right now I am just sharing the cover of my album. I used the set Vintage Vogue and stamped them in Peach Parfait and Concord Garpe then cut each piece out, I also used Pear Pizzazz. I'm going to be sorry these colors are retiring!! I added some pearls and buttons to the flowers to make them pop a bit more and added the ribbon to tie it all in. I think it's so pretty that I don't think I'm going to give it away just yet!! Happy Stamping!!

Christmas Giftables Class - Project #2

Boy we had a ton of fun with the Christmas class!! Everyone seemed to love the projects!! I know I did :) Here is another one we made:

It's actually one of the clear envelope scrapbooks like the one made here. I got the idea for the trees from the ever so wonderful Brandi Wiggins and she got the idea from someone else. These are real easy to put together just takes a few times to get the folds just right. Basically it's a half circle which I embossed with the embossing folder then folded to make the tree shape. The stumps I ran through a crimper. I have to tell you IRL it looks even better! Happy Stamping!!

Another Flip Scrap Card

Yesterday I shared with you how to make a Flip Scrap Card. Here is the one I made while making the tutorial.

I couldn't get the coloring right in the photo, it really isn't quite that green. But here is each flap of the card.

If you make one don't forget to let me know, by posting a comment and a link to your creation. I would love to see what you all come up with!! Happy Stamping!

Technique Tuesday - Flap Scrap Card - updated measurement

As promised I said I would show how to make my Flip Scrap Card. So here we go!! Oops I had a measurement wrong that has now been corrected.

Start with a full sheet of 12 x 12 paper of your choice. You are going to cut it at 5 3/4. So you will have two pieces one 5 3/4 x 12 and one 6 1/4 x 12. If you are using patterned paper that needs to be a specific direction pay attention to how you cut your paper so your pattern doesn't end up side ways.

Score your 6 1/4 x 12 piece at 4 and at 9.

Score for 5 3/4 x 12 piece at 3 1/16 and at 8. (The picture shown is this piece.)

Crease the folds you made for both pieces.

Tape together so that the center pieces line up do not tape down the flaps. The flaps should not be the same size. If don't want you ribbon to show on the inside do this step after the ribbon notches are made and you have threaded the ribbon on the top paper only. My original piece has it as an accent on the middle inside piece.

Fold all sides in until you have the card shape. You will then use your slot punch on the edge of your paper at around 2 1/4 up from the bottom. You can't quite see it in the picture but I only went in halfway.

Depending on the size ribbon you use the will have to slide a bit up from that slot and make a second punch.

Do this on both sides and it should look like this after.

Thread your ribbon through the slots.

This is how your project will look before you decorate it up. If you don't want your ribbon to show on the inside this is where you would tape down the second piece.

I will post a picture of this finished project later this week!

I hope you found this tutorial helpful and not confusing. If I missed something or didn't explain it well enough just let me know. Happy Stamping!!

Baby Gift

A friend of mine had a baby late November and she had already gotten a ton of clothes, diapers, and all those baby things so I decided I would make her a scrapbook. I really like our in colors this round and was able to find a 6x6 album that had most of the in colors in it.
Here is the first page:
Here is the last page:
I had every intention of using all of the in colors but somehow manage to use only blue and brown hmmm ... my favorite color combo strikes again!! I will show you the other pages over the next few days. Happy Stamping!

Demo Get Together

After convention a few demo friends of mine thought it would be fun to get together once a month and do projects. Our first get together was in late September and it was a blast. I'm a bit behind showing this project. It was a lot of fun to do and was the first time I had actually made on of these little mini albums.

Isn't it cute!?! It opens up in to a mini photo album. To make the album pages we just used the clear SU envelopes. I believe we put 5 in each but depending how big you want it you can add more. I really liked how easy and simple they were to make. I was thinking of making some of these for Christmas presents but not sure if' I'll actually do it. Happy Stamping!

Recipe: Stamp Set - Inspired By Nature, Cardstock - Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Whisper White, and Summer Sun, Accessories - Old Olive, Summer Sun, So Saffronand Chocolate Chip Markers, Jumbo Eyelets, Wire Clip, Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Clear Envelopes and Dimensionals.
