Stampin' Addicts - New Catty Blog Hop - Perfect Blend

 
Welcome to Stampin' Addicts New Catalog blog hop!  We are showcasing all new stamp sets from the 2013-2014 catalog.  My blog is the second stop on the hop but if you started here it's okay as we are all linked together!!  If you started in order than you just came from Stampin' with Paula who made some wonderful projects using Timeless Talk.

There are so many fun new stamps that I had a hard time picking which stamp set to work with but I finally decide to go with Perfect Blend.  The coffee cup is just waaay to cute even though I don't drink coffee!

My first project, well actually it was the last one I made, is a cute little gift that you could give to just about anyone!!I just used a square 4x4 piece of cardstock and formed it into a cone to create the pouch.  I then decorated it with some of the new chevron ribbon (LOVE!) and a cut out coffee cup that I watercolored to match my color scheme which I took from the colors in the coffee packets.  To get the striped band I used the set Six-Sided Sampler.

My next project is a sweet and simple card and it's slightly smaller than your average card measuring 4 1/2x 4 1/2.  I stamped the main coffee cup image, I watercolored the lid and cut the band out from a scrap of Natural Composition DSP.  Too get the Strawberry Slush polka dots I again used the Six Sided Sampler stamp set.

This next card is slightly more stepped up card, still simple but has more bling to it!  Here I stamped the coffee cup and watercolored the lid and band with pool party.  I created the strips with you guessed it the Six Sided Sampler set with masking to keep all the strips on the cup.  I added some more of the fun chevron ribbon and candy dots (fun embellishment!).

My last card is a bit over the top and sort of has a vintage feel!  On the base I made coffee stains using my lid of plastic embellishment cases.  I stamped two coffee cups and colored them again with watercoloring and yes the Six Sided Sampler for the bands.  I used a bunch of different embellishments; paper clay, candy dots, ruffled ribbon and natural trim.  If you look closely at the bow you will see that it is slightly scorched.  I did this by running my heat gun over it to give it the worn look.

Creative Crew - April Holiday Focus

Mom and Dad, Mum and Dad, Mom or Dad. Remember those that gave us life. Make a card, a scrapbook page or a decor item that honors Mom or Dad or both. Continue using the In Colors as your main colors.

I wanted to create a card for my Mom and Dad and since their anniversary is just around the corner. I used the set Elements of Style which is perfect for an anniversary card especially the sentiment "Life is a matter of Moments". I used concord crush since that was their color when they were married and then I paired it with pear pizzazz. I embossed the concord piece with the vintage wallpaper embossing folder. I watercolored the flowers to give it the shades as well as added a bit of shimmer paint to make it sparkle just a bit. I think they will love this card!! Happy Stamping!

More Butterfly Delight

I think I may have mentioned I like butterflies a time or too. If I hadn't just a quick run through my blog you sure would be able to figure it out!!

Here is another butterfly card and a cute one too!! This one uses the Flores Suaves from the Spanish Supplement. The background word piece behind the butterfly I used the rock and roll technique to get the double color. The butterfly I stamped with staz on the watercolored it and then spritzed it with shimmer paint ... love that stuff!! Lastly I added some ribbon and pearls and it was perfect!! Happy Stamping!

Butterfly Frame

Here is the gift part of my friends birthday gift that I gave with the card I shared last week.

Everything but the butterflies and ribbon are underneath the glass panes. Most of the things I used wee retired product here too but who doesn't love the stamp All a Flutter and he was the right size for this frame!! I embossed the butterfly than added the color with my aquapainter. Happy Stamping!!

Throwback Thursday - Cub Scout Blue & Gold Invite

February was our Blue & Gold Banquet and the boys wanted to make some invites. So I took out my retired Cowboy Kid and stamped them in Staz On for the kids to color. The one below was one of the one's I colored to give the principal and a few other people.

To color him in I used my watercolor crayons, they are perfect for watercoloring. I used my aqua painter directly on my crayon to give a more vibrant color.

The bottom picture is the inside of the card which I created using My Digital Studio. It was so easy to use and print off!! It sure made that part easy!

Photo Clip

I found this little photo clips at a craft store and thought they would be perfect to make inchies for and they are. This one I made my inchie using the Dreams Du Jour set. I colored it in using my water color crayons and my aqua painter. Then I just decorated the stem clip with some ribbon and it was done!! Too cute and would be perfect as a little gift! I bought a few more to make some others but haven't had time to decorate them but when I do I will share them! Happy Stamping!!

Pink Roses

I found this card in my pictures and hadn't shared it yet. If I recall correctly I made it back in May.

The set I used was Fifth Avenue Floral. I stamped it with versamark then embossed it with black embossing powder. I then watercolored it with several different shades of pink and reds. I also watercolored shimmer paint over the tops of each flower to add some sheen. Happy Stamping!!

Two Toned

Here is a card I made for my secret sister last round.

This card shimmered and shined in real life and was beautiful!! I used my water color crayons to make the two toned effect on the flowers and the spritzed it with my favorite shimmer paint spray ... love that stuff!! Happy Stamping!!

Elements of Style

This round of Secret Sisters is almost done so I figured I could show some of the cards I sent.

I try to keep the cards I send as flat as possible, I have had several times were the cards were torn to shreds at the post office. This card uses Elements of Style. This is not normally a set I would have gotten but after seeing all the great cards made with it I am glad I did! After water coloring it in I sprayed it with shimmery paint. It was a pretty simple but pretty card! Happy Stamping!

Happy Fourth!!

Hope you all have a wonderful Fourth of July!! We had a parade yesterday but no fireworks; we haven't had them in town for several years now due to the high fire danger in this area! We have just had 3 wildfires recently. Personally we just get together as a family and celebrate!! Which is what it is all about to us; having my Brother and my Father and not to mention various other members of the family service in the different Military branches we know first have the service and sacrifice these men and women give to serve our country. In honor of the Fourth here is a little card I made:


This is the first time I have actually ink up this set; Courage. I stamped the image in staz on and then added some color by watercoloring. I used Cherry Cobbler, Pacific Point, Crumb Cake and Whisper White. The Cherry Cobbler piece of card stock I ran through my big shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder; it's knid of hard to see in the picture. I wanted to add a bit of color to the star bard so I dropped a bit of Re Inker into it and sealed it with crystal effects. I would recommend doing that before you have it attached to the card as it can get a little messy. To top it all off a added a bit of cording to it. Simple Butterfly

Hi everyone! Stampin Up! made all the calls to all the Artisan winners and I didn't get one ... bummer! My goal wasn't to win (though that would have been nice) but to push myself and try different things. So I am happy that I did that AND now I can finally show the projects I submitted. I will be sharing those with you all sometime this month; except one that I forgot to take a picture of .. oops!

I loved this card and almost kept it!! I just love that butterfly! This butterfly is from the Flores Suaves stamp set from the Spanish supplement. If you don't have it you really should get it!! I embossed the image then watercolored it. It took maybe 5 minutes to make; my kind of card! Happy Stamping!

Cub Scout Project

As most of you know I am a cub scout leader and I tell you I make those poor boys be crafty!! Actually they all seem to like all my craft projects. The last one was making a catapult for their Engineer activity badge.


We made a basic box with card stock the added some skewers to make the working catapult part. They had the option of decorating the outside and this was how I had made mine, using Under the Stars stamp set; they mostly just colored theirs with designs. I watercolored the smores and then embossed the marshmallow with iridescent ice.

They had a lot of fun with this project but I think it was mostly the flinging of marshmallows across the room!! Happy Stamping!

Flores Suaves

If you haven't ever looked at the Spanish Catalog you really should there are some great stamp sets in there that you can't find in the big catty! One of my favorites is Flores Suaves; mostly because of that cute little butterfly! On this card I showcased the flower instead.

I love this card and was sad to mail it off to my secret sis from last round and she loved it too! I used my aqua painter to add color to the flowers and to add shimmer paint over the top of it. The DSP is Cottage Wall and the colors are Certainly Celery, Rich Razzleberry, and Pale Plum. Happy Stamping!!

Sometimes it just goes wrong ....

This card started out very simple but it needed something and then needed something and it just kept going wrong....

It was supposed to be a card of celebration but just seems a little morbid to me. I probably should have used some color instead! Oh well it just went into the scrap pile, I have more cards then I care to admit go into that pile. Happy Stamping!

Garden from the Heart part 2

This is the second card I made using Garden from the Heart set. I loved this one!!

I made this one a couple of months later than the last one I shared. I find sometimes it goods just to put a set aside if you are struggling creating with it and usually it works better the next time I try it, that was the case with this card. The sash was again created with DSP and I added a rhinestone brads to the center. Old Olive works extremely well with Rich Razzleberry. I colored in the image with our watercolor pencils. Baby Tag

As usual I am running behind .... in everything. Showing my projects, even making them. This is a gift tag I made for a friend of mine that I made back in July. Her baby is 3 months old now and I'm just now showing this.

I *loved* this gift tag!!! I had all of about 15 minutes to make this before I had to leave to make it to her shower. See I am always running behind. But at least in those 15 minutes my creative juices were pumping! I watercolored the little cute little bear from the stamp set Cute and Cuddly using my colored pencils and mineral oil. (I promise to have a tutorial done to show you how .... sometime.) I have to tell you I only got this set because of that cute little bear.

I was surprised in how well this color combo works, I would have not normally put soft suede and blush blossom together. Happy Stamping!

Give me S'More!

It's been getting colder and colder around here and I just don't like it!! So I'm still going to share some of my summery card .... hope you all don't mind! This was my all time favorite card using Under the Stars.

Actually it's the ONLY card I've made using this set but it's one of my favorites! I need to break it out more often don'tcha think? What's fun about this card is that it can be used for several reasons summer picnic, camp out, for kids and it's masculine!

I watercolored the bear and s'more using my aquapainters. I used iridescent ice for the marshmallow to make it pop. The grrreat saying was stamped with versamark and embossed with white embossing powder for both the sentiment and the background, which I only ran down one side. I used Old Olive and Sarah Sand for cardstock to add a touch of color with a bit of hemp for an embllishment. Happy Stamping!!
