Stampin' Addicts - Mega New Blog Hop

Welcome to Stampin' Addicts Mega New Blog Hop! If you are loving everything new in the new Catty you are not alone!! There is sooo much I want to get and I'm sure after seeing this blog hop my list will be even longer!

If you been following the hop in order then you have just come from Holly's Rubber Redneck and saw her wonderful projects using Artistic Etchings. If not you can always check out this thread to get a list of all the sites participating in our Mega New Blog Hop!

On my blog I will be showcasing projects using Word Play. It's a fun little set using all kinds of word phrases.

This first project uses the phrase wish big .... which is just perfect for a little birthday fun!

I made this little box out of a piece of 51/2x51/2 piece of card stock; so it's a small box. I made the mini card to go with it which measures 21/2x2. It's a pretty simple project but is super cute!!

This next project was a little more involved but again rather easy to put together .... who doesn't like easy?? I used the phrase Remember When for this one.

The concept of this project is to have a little scrap wallet for you to hold a few memories in ... it's perfect for you purse! The inside is made using several coin envelopes so that you can have several pages within the wallet. I added stamps from Sense of Time to add a bit more to the project.

My last project is this great card!! It uses the phrase Imagine.

You are probably wondering why I would pair this saying with the little girl from Kimono Kids. It is a bit different but I have a friend who is currently working through the process of adopting a little girl from China. So I thought this would a be a cute card to send her as she is imagining all the possibilities of becoming a Mom to this little girl.

The next stop on our hop is Adriana's Escape to Stamp where she is featuring the set Fabulous Phrases. Happy Stamping ... oh and don't forget to leave a comment before you go!!

New SU Apron

At Memento Mall they had new aprons available to purchase so of course I had to get one!! I have to wait for mine ... there was a tiny little issue with the snaps so in the meantime I made my own out of paper!!

I couldn't remember the exact colors of the stitching on top but I think this is pretty close. I used the stamp set Love What You Do; which was also available at convention and stamped it using the chalkboard technique. I created a pocket on front to carry all the supplies we have, such as a couple of card, spool of ribbon, hemp twine, stampin' write markers, ribbon and of course some of those new mini pearls. Just click on the pictures to see a larger view.

I love how it came out ... even better than I had imagined!! Hope you all like it too! Happy Stamping!!

2010 Artisan Award Winners

One of the things I was most excited to see at convention was the Artisan Award Winners and boy were they fantastic ... each and everyone of the them. I would hate to have judged this contest but I think they sure got it right!! Take a look!!

You can click on each picture to make it larger. Every single one of the demonstrators have such wonderful projects. I love everything on them and the work that they put into each ... wow!! Happy Stamping!!

Wow!!

I can't believe that convention is already over!! It has been so much fun and I enjoyed it so much more the second time around!! There was still a ton of hustle and bustle but it was much more relaxed atmosphere than the last time and I can't wait until the next one!

Here is another picture with most of the gals I was with.

There was so much info and I have a ton of new ideas! I can't wait to schedule my new few classes so I can show you all what I have learned! As soon as I finalize all my classes I will let you all know and get registration all set up.

My roommate and I were very lucky and won both with the arm bands and during a drawing! To top it off we all got a special gift before we left ... which is absolutely amazing and generous!!

I promise to post pictures of the display boards and Artisan winners submission later in the week over a few days. Just as soon as I can get some time to convert all my pictures to a more manageable size.

If you would like to be able to get these benefits and more you are always welcome to join my team!! Just email me for more information! Happy Stamping!

Hi From Convention

It's time again for convention and this year I got to go!! So far it has been a lot fo fun and I have enjoyed spending time with friends that I sometimes only see at convention. Here is our bag from this year!

It's pretty funky!! At first I thought what the heck were the thinking ... orange vinyl?? But it has grown on me and I love it!

I get to be a Make n Take Helper which is too cool ... and check out this awesome tag they made for us!

I think it is very pretty! I love it! Of course I could not pass up doing a little shopping at Memento Mall.

I love the fact that they offered a T-Shirt this year; I got the red one but they had it in pink too. They also had new aprons this year and I sure needed to replace my old one! I picked up a few extra things to give away at my classes too!

Last night they had this fantastic 70's style party that was a lot of fun!! I got this great picture of Shelli and her husband Spencer. Far Out!!

I also won one of the door prizes for the evening; which was very cool!! I got the simply scrappin' kit Christmas Cheer and the stamp set A Word for You!! Plus my roommate won too!! Here is a few pictures of myself and the other gals I am hanging with at convention!

Keep checking my blog this week as I will be sharing some more pictures from convention and all the display boards!! Happy Stamping!!

Elements of Style

This round of Secret Sisters is almost done so I figured I could show some of the cards I sent.

I try to keep the cards I send as flat as possible, I have had several times were the cards were torn to shreds at the post office. This card uses Elements of Style. This is not normally a set I would have gotten but after seeing all the great cards made with it I am glad I did! After water coloring it in I sprayed it with shimmery paint. It was a pretty simple but pretty card! Happy Stamping!

Top Note Felt Basket

Here is a little gift basket one could pick out a small incentive while at my open house this past week.

This little felt basket was my sample for one of my artisan submissions so it very basic. The second one I did up but forgot to take a picture so hopefully I will see it at convention! I made it using my big shot and the top note die. I hand stitched it all since it is a small project but also because I am too lazy to get the sewing machine out. Happy Stamping!!

Open House Homemade

Here is my second project we made this past weekend at my open house.

It was made using the bitty box and envelope die and the big shot! I so love my big shot .. I;m sure you all have noticed by now ... it's a well used tool! The colors used here are Daffodil Delight and Elegant Eggplant. We also used the new jumbo scallop punch. The stamp set is the single on called Homemade. We also spritzed it with some shimmer paint.

If you didn't have a chance to make it and still want to pick up a book just let me know. I still have a few left. Happy Stamping!!

Open House Just Believe

Here is one of the 2 projects we made at the open house:

This made using the stamp set Just Believe, at first I really didn't like this set but I have grown to like this set quite a bit. The dry embossing was done with the big shot and Vintage Wallpaper folder. It really coordinates well with this set! To do the image in two tones we inked up the main image with certainly celery and then wiped off the flowers with a q-tip and colored them back in with the Daffodil Delight marker. The white piece was also spritzed with shimmer paint. Happy Stamping!!

Open House Giftable

Those of you who made it to my open house I know you enjoyed the projects that we made. If you didn't get a chance to make it I will be posting those projects later in the week.

For now I want to share the special gift I made for everyone who attend my open house! Aren't these cute?!?! I really like how they came out!! I used the set Tropical party to create the strips I wrapped around the water bottles as well as the pouch to hold those crystal light packages. Everyone loved them and I hope that you all will find them useful! To make the pouches I used the now retired petal card die which you can still get from sizzix. Happy stamping!

Almsot Artisan 3-d Project The Final Project

So now that I have finally showed you all the "pieces" to my 3-d project here it is all put together!!

A jewelry holder!! I thought it came out great it was a bit of work but it was worth it!!! I cut out the butterfly with my big shot and the Beautiful Butterfly die using thin corkboard and then decorated them up with pearls from the pretties kit and ribbon. I'm thinking of making a few for Christmas gifts this year (if I can make some time)! Hopefully my missing 2 projects will be on display at convention so I can get some pictures of them since somehow I forgot. Happy Stamping!
