Stampin' Addicts - New Catty Blog Hop - Perfect Blend

Welcome to Stampin' Addicts New Catalog blog hop!  We are showcasing all new stamp sets from the 2013-2014 catalog.  My blog is the second stop on the hop but if you started here it's okay as we are all linked together!!  If you started in order than you just came from Stampin' with Paula who made some wonderful projects using Timeless Talk.

There are so many fun new stamps that I had a hard time picking which stamp set to work with but I finally decide to go with Perfect Blend.  The coffee cup is just waaay to cute even though I don't drink coffee!

My first project, well actually it was the last one I made, is a cute little gift that you could give to just about anyone!!I just used a square 4x4 piece of cardstock and formed it into a cone to create the pouch.  I then decorated it with some of the new chevron ribbon (LOVE!) and a cut out coffee cup that I watercolored to match my color scheme which I took from the colors in the coffee packets.  To get the striped band I used the set Six-Sided Sampler.

My next project is a sweet and simple card and it's slightly smaller than your average card measuring 4 1/2x 4 1/2.  I stamped the main coffee cup image, I watercolored the lid and cut the band out from a scrap of Natural Composition DSP.  Too get the Strawberry Slush polka dots I again used the Six Sided Sampler stamp set.

This next card is slightly more stepped up card, still simple but has more bling to it!  Here I stamped the coffee cup and watercolored the lid and band with pool party.  I created the strips with you guessed it the Six Sided Sampler set with masking to keep all the strips on the cup.  I added some more of the fun chevron ribbon and candy dots (fun embellishment!).

My last card is a bit over the top and sort of has a vintage feel!  On the base I made coffee stains using my lid of plastic embellishment cases.  I stamped two coffee cups and colored them again with watercoloring and yes the Six Sided Sampler for the bands.  I used a bunch of different embellishments; paper clay, candy dots, ruffled ribbon and natural trim.  If you look closely at the bow you will see that it is slightly scorched.  I did this by running my heat gun over it to give it the worn look.

I hope you enjoyed my projects as much as I did making them!!  The next stop on the hop is Lily's Ink Pad where she is sharing some awesome projects using Tag It!  Happy Stamping!!

Stampin' Addicts Retiring Blog Hop - Little Friends

Welcome to Stampin' Addicts retiring stamps blog hop!!  We will be showcasing 13 of our most loved retiring stamp sets from the 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! Catalog.

If you are hopping in order you just came from Katherine's Magical Inkery Tour where she is featuring the set Kindness Matters .. didn't you just love her projects??  If you started here no worries at the bottom of this post there is the next link and we are all connected so you won't miss any of the greats projects!!

I decided I want to work with Little Friends as it's such a cute little set!!  It has been one of my favorites to use my water color crayons which are also retiring (sob)!!

This first card uses the little boy image .. cute!!  I kept this one pretty simple as it is more of a masculine card.  I currently do not have a saying attached to it as I'm not sure who will get this lovely card!!

My  second card is very cheery ...perfect for a thinking of you card so I added the sentiment so many smiles. Who would have thought Tangerine Tango and Perfect Plum would look good together!!  This card is slightly smaller and measures 5x3.

The last project I have to share with you is a little gift box with a mini 3x3 tag card. Who doesn't love this image!?  I've had a puppy or two who has done this same thing with my kiddos.

I hope you enjoyed my projects; I know I enjoyed making them!!  Sad to see this set go but since I keep ALL my stamp sets I'll still have it.  Be sure to get yours before they are no longer available!!

The next stop on the hop is Adriana's escape2stamp where she has made some awesome projects using another one of favorite sets Need for Speed.  Happy Stamping!!

Simply Soft Vaulted Card

This card showcases the previous hostess set Simply Soft.  I thought this set went well with the dreaded paisley petals DSP.  This was another one of those cards that had lotsa layers .... I think it was a phase I went through.  The colors I used here were river rock (I know I don't use it too often), always artichoke and very vanilla.  Happy Stamping!!

Friends Forever

This card was made using the set Lean on Me ... it's such a cute little set that is perfect to send to a friend.  Here I used the image with the two best friends hanging out, I colored them in using my water color crayons!!  (love those!!)  I chose the colors by the DSP colors I had lying on my desk ... gotta use up those scraps!!  (Really it's because I'm too lazy to go across the room ad get some out of the drawer.)  Other than that just some simple layering and the cards done!!  Oh and I of course ran the base through the big shot using my dotted EF.  Happy Stamping!!

Pigtastic

This card is actually kind of strange and cute at the same time! I used the set Button Buddies ... the cute little pig one.  While I was cutting out the lattice piece I noticed the negative looked like a pigs head as well so I incorporated into the card; so it looks like a large pig head behind the pig image.  I thought the laughter saying from the set Word Play was perfect to use with this.  So I hope you got a little chuckle out of this slightly strange card!!  Happy Stamping!!

Delightful Kettle!

One of my favorite sets is Morning Cup even though I do not drink coffee .... but I have a lot of friends who do.  For this card I used the kettle and the color combo Wisteria Wonder and Pink Pirouette!  Other that it just a couple bunch, embossing folders and some accessories!  Happy Stamping!!

One Last Vintage Vogue Card

Here's another card I created for my retirement party/workshop. I used the set Vintage Vogue which I am soo said to see retire!  I went with a vintage theme for this card and I thought the Daffodil Delight was a bit brighter than I wanted to a crimped a piece until it was pretty flimsy and then separate the layers and the inside was slightly lighter so I used that side.  Plus it has a nice fleece like texture. I rocked and rolled the Friends image to get both colors, Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede.  Then stamped flowers an cut them out.  I layered two soft suede ones to get the large flower.  Added some ribbon, pearls and lattice die piece to pull it all together.  Happy Stamping!!

Spring Buttons

I got this set Button Buddies for free and it wasn't originally on my list but I've had fun using it! I stamped the flower image a couple of times in Daffodil Delight for a nice spring color and it goes nicely with Marina Mist. (I sure do wish it was spring here!!!!!!!!!) I added some buttons in brown shades to bring in some additional color. I thought the best sentiment for this card was a thinking of you which could be used for a variety of reasons. Happy Stamping!!

Butterfly Rosette

Obviously I have a thing for butterflies ... you all know that!! This was a thinking of you card I made with the awesome rosette as part of my main focal point! I used several of the big shot dies, perfect pennant, beautiful wings, blossom party and the vintage wallpaper folder. The colors are rich razzleberry, bravo burgundy and sahara sand which actually make a real nice color combo!! Happy Stamping!!

Creative Crew - February Catalog Focus

Join us for this months Creative Crew challenges!! Here is the challenge for the Catalog focus:

CCREW0212CF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Catalog focus: Remember that stamp set that you just had to have? And then somehow it got tucked away on your shelf. Pull out a neglected stamp set and show it some love!

I am a purple freak and just had to make a monochrome card to showcase this set Growing Green. I stamp the flower image with white embossing powder and then used my aqua painter to wet the cardstock the ran my different markers shades throughout the images to get the color depth. Then I cut out the flowers. I wanted the ribbon to match so I used my taffeta white ribbon and ran my markers along the edge to die them .... I would use the lighter color first then the darker. I also used the new adorning accents and edgelits to create the bottom edge. I then stamped my saying and layered the flowers around it add a few pearls and the card was done!! I did also heat the ribbon with my heat gun to give it the crinkled look, just be careful not to burn it!. Happy Stamping!!

Flowery Hello

Occasionally I liked to make cards that are a slightly different size than the standard and usually this is because I have a large odd shaped scrap piece sitting on my desk begging to be used and this card was one of those. The card measures 3x4. I used the set Printed Petals for this springy card (is winter over yet??). I love love these colors together, Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist ... yummy! And as always I had to add some more texture so I used my elegant lines embossing folder on the base!! Happy Stamping!

Button Button

I still have a bunch of projects I created last year to show off so I will be sharing them in between some of my other new projects! This was a card I made for Sandy's workshop. It's really simple but it really stands out. I used the set Button Button which has lots of fun images that coordinate with our buttons. I used several layers for this card and of course I used my petals of plenty embossing folder to add some dimension. Embossing Folders are my favorite big shot tool! On the flower image I used the rock and roll technique. Happy Stamping!!

Simple Butterflies

This is another simple card. I made this one to send to my secret sister during the last round of DDSS. Since I was mailing it I tried to stay away from things that would make ti too bulky. I used the set Precious Butterflies which is currently one of the hostess sets you can get if you host a party! I think it's pretty, probably because it uses my favorite color as well as having several butterflies! Happy Stamping!

Creative Crew - January Color Focus

Here is the info on the Holiday Focus if you would like to join us on this challenge:
CCREW112DF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM – Color Focus: Use a color combination that you’ve never used before. Make your card with this color combo using the attached sketch.
Just upload your projects to the splitcoast gallery be sure to use keywords above that are in blue.

I love this card ... mostly because it's different then what I normally do. I'm not big on using pastels and figured I would start there when picking a color combo I haven't used before so I went with Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette and Old Olive. At first everything I tried to do with the sketch wasn't working out ... mostly because I DO NOT play well with sketches!! I can start with a sketch and my card at the end never resembles it; I have this thing with being different. Probably why I don't rarely CASE. Even when I get together with friends I always always have to change it up ... drives everyone else crazy. Anyways I finally after several attempts made a card that actually looked like the sketch. I added some of the pleated blushing bride ribbon from the new mini and button as they coordinated just enough, in the picture it stands out a bit more than in real life. Happy Stamping!!
