Over the Top Butterfly!

Remember how I was saying sometimes I need to go simple well this isn't one of those times ... this one is a little over the top!! Oh so pretty but over the top!  This was definitely one of those cards that should be hand delivered.  I cut out the butterfly with the butterfly die and then added some stamping to their wings with the set Vintage Vogue (now retired) and a bit of sponging.  I then layered them onto a rosette I made with the Designer Rosette die which gives this card a lot of width.  Then added ribbon, pearls some shimmer paint and poof all prettied up!!  Happy Stamping!!

Creative Crew - March Holiday Focus

My fourth project I am sharing is the Holiday Focus one and is my Favorite project I've made for all the challenges so far!!

Here's the info if you would like to join us - CCREW0312HF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Holiday focus: Let's celebrate national crafting month! Pull that idea you've been "wanting to do" out and create it. You can use any theme, maybe you have an Easter project, maybe you have a decor or centerpiece idea, maybe you've been wanting to do something with fabric? Any theme is okay, but show us your artistic, creative, involved crafty side. Use the first attached photo to inspire your creativity.

Isn't it pretty!?!?! I've had these jars for well a while (we won't say just how long) and have been looking for a way to alter them so I came up with this cute decorative jar. It went straight to my spring time vignette and I think I'll make a few paper flowers to sit in as well. I did a couple of different flowers; the yellow one is used the eyelet border punch and wrapping it into circles then spritzing with shimmer paint. The green one I did with scallop punches and the blue one I did with ribbon. All different looks but they work perfectly together!! I also used a bit of ribbon and if you look closely you will see some white waffle paper. Love it and hope you do too!! Happy Stamping!!

Creative Crew - March Color Focus

Ready for this months Creative Crew Challenges?!?! Well here is the first one

If you want to play along here's the criteria - CCREW0312DF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- DSP/Color Focus: March Flower of the month: Daffodil & Jonquils - In honor of the March flower of the month, use this color combo: Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Blushing Bride, with any neutrals of your choice.

I went with the colors Daffodil Delight and Blushing Bride. Pink and yellow how can you go wrong?! I decided to use the set Precious Butterflies which is a hostess exclusive set. I stamped the main image first and to get the different colors I used my markers. Then I stamped my butterflies and to get both colors on my butterflies I used the rock and roll technique. I attached them to my card using dimensionals. Put it all on some in color DSP from the last catalog hostess rewards and a bit of the taffeta ribbon. I used Soft Suede as the base which doesn't stand out as much as it does in this picture. Happy Stamping!!

Looks like spring

I wish it was spring here unfortunately we have still been getting snow. At least it has been the kind that drops a few inches and then melts right away. This card is very springy so wishing it'll bring some spring time feel since it's still winter. I used the set Simply Soft which is a hostess exclusive set you can get get only if you host a workshop, which you can schedule with me anytime!! Like I've told you I'm a bit of a purple freak so I used our Concord Crush and Wisteria Wonder as my color palette with a touch of Lucky Limeade. I don't know what I am going to do when these in colors retire!! Guess I better stock up!! The rest of the card is pretty simple just layers and a bit of ribbon. I did use the Flower Garden EF on the base to tie in the flowers. Happy Stamping!!

Creative Crew - January Color Focus

Here is the info on the Holiday Focus if you would like to join us on this challenge:
CCREW112DF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM – Color Focus: Use a color combination that you’ve never used before. Make your card with this color combo using the attached sketch.
Just upload your projects to the splitcoast gallery be sure to use keywords above that are in blue.

I love this card ... mostly because it's different then what I normally do. I'm not big on using pastels and figured I would start there when picking a color combo I haven't used before so I went with Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette and Old Olive. At first everything I tried to do with the sketch wasn't working out ... mostly because I DO NOT play well with sketches!! I can start with a sketch and my card at the end never resembles it; I have this thing with being different. Probably why I don't rarely CASE. Even when I get together with friends I always always have to change it up ... drives everyone else crazy. Anyways I finally after several attempts made a card that actually looked like the sketch. I added some of the pleated blushing bride ribbon from the new mini and button as they coordinated just enough, in the picture it stands out a bit more than in real life. Happy Stamping!!

Send Me Soaring Kite Card

I want to give a closer look to the projects I made for the blog hop. The first I wanted to go over was the monochrome blue kite card. I stamped the background elements first and then watercolored the clouds with my water color crayons to give them dimension. The I added the polka dotted kite which I stamped with pacific point then ran my aqua painter over it to change the white dots to be blue. Then attached it to the card with dimensionals. I punched out circles and then sponged them with my white craft pad to make them pop more. The DSP I ran my sanding block along the sides to show the white. Lastly I added the strip with the wish big saying with some white brads to pull the card all together. Hope you enjoyed the card as much as I did!! Happy Stamping!!

Stampin' Addicts Occcasions Mini Blog Hop - Send Me Soaring

It's Stampin Up! time for a new mini catalog so that means it's time for another awesome Stampin' Addicts blog hop featuring the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog! I love the fun and exciting new accessories in this mini!!

There are only 16 stops on the hop this time around and if you are hoping in order you just came from Debra's site Heartfelt Inkspiration where she is featuring the new Embosslits Die - Fashionable Hearts. This die is for sure on my must have list (along with many other things!)!!!

The set I am showcasing today is the set Send Me Soaring! Ijust had to have this set as I have many pages to scrap with pics of my boys flying kites when they were smaller. Kite flying was one of their favorite afternoon activities. My first project is this simple but fun card.

My next project I used the petite pocket die to create this awesome gift card holder!

Lastly I was trying to come up with something different to do with this set and the kite with the circles reminded my of a graham cracker so I came up with this little beauty!

I hope you enjoyed my projects as much as I have!! The next stop on the hop is Sara's site Lily's Ink Pad where she is featuring the Packed for Everything sets. If you have time be sure to stop by the Stampin' Addicts blog hop chat thread and let us know what you thought about the hop!! Happy Stamping!

Display Stamper - Easy Events More Flowers

Here is a really cheerful birthday card! I'm not one who usually uses such bright colors and it all seemed a little bold for my normal tastes but since your are trying to showcase versatility when creating for the display boards it worked! I think doing these have really help me stretch my creativity! Of course there are a few telltale signature things in this card ... glitter on the flowers (who doesn't put glitter on everything??), my bow (everyone teases me about how "perfect" my bows are) and I always have some sort of embossing on my cards. Happy Stamping!!

Display Stamper - Easy Events Flowers

This is a card I made for the display boards using Easy Events. This was by far my favorite set as it is very versatile. This was another card that was on the VIP boards so only VIP's were able to see it. It's pretty simple and a great card to say Hello to a friend. I used my stampin majig to line up the flowers and then I colored them in different shades of pink then added a bit of crystal effects over them and sprinkled a dab of glitter on the centers before it dried. Happy Stamping!!

Display Boards - Raining Flowers Wreath

This was a cute and super simple little project. I just used a mini grapevine wreath and decorated it with some spring colored flowers and some ribbon. After I stamped the flowers out I added some iridescent ice to them to make them sparkle, we all need a bit of sparkle!! Happy Stamping!
