Creative Crew - January Color Focus

Here is the info on the Holiday Focus if you would like to join us on this challenge:
CCREW112DF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM – Color Focus: Use a color combination that you’ve never used before. Make your card with this color combo using the attached sketch.
Just upload your projects to the splitcoast gallery be sure to use keywords above that are in blue.

I love this card ... mostly because it's different then what I normally do. I'm not big on using pastels and figured I would start there when picking a color combo I haven't used before so I went with Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette and Old Olive. At first everything I tried to do with the sketch wasn't working out ... mostly because I DO NOT play well with sketches!! I can start with a sketch and my card at the end never resembles it; I have this thing with being different. Probably why I don't rarely CASE. Even when I get together with friends I always always have to change it up ... drives everyone else crazy. Anyways I finally after several attempts made a card that actually looked like the sketch. I added some of the pleated blushing bride ribbon from the new mini and button as they coordinated just enough, in the picture it stands out a bit more than in real life. Happy Stamping!!

Display Boards - Raining Flowers Sympathy

Here is the last card from my submission for Raining Flowers. The color combo is a little unusual but really looks stunning in person. I made the three tier bow which really added to the card. The main image is stamp with black staz on then stamped over with versamark so that I could emboss with clear powder. I then sponged the image to make it with pool party to make it pop.

My thoughts and prayer are with those effect by the events on 9/11.

Display Boards - Best Friends Forever

This card is real simple. Part of that is because it's a sympathy card but it is also because lately I have been getting more involved with my cards and thought it would be good to get back to my basics a bit with a clean and simple card. Happy Stamping!

Sympathy Card

A close friend of mine tragically lost her son. As family and friends are sharing in her sorrow today I thought I would share the card I made for her.

Please take the time to hug the ones you love today.

Quick and Simple

Thoughts and Prayers is one of those sets that is just simple and beautiful!! No matter what you do with it, it always looks great.

It took like maybe 5 minutes to make this card. The image was done using markers to get all of the colors. It's perfect for a sympathy or thinking of you card. Happy Stamping!!

Shades of Blue

Today was my bi-annual Open House and it sure was a lot of fun!! I hope you all thought so too! It was nice to actually do some stamping for a change. I'll share with you some of the cards and stuff that was made in case you missed the chance to stop by. But for today I wanted to share a card I made for a birthday card.

My friend loves blue and sunflowers so this was the card I made. Looking at it now it would work great for a sympathy or thinking of you card as well. I colored the sunflowers in with the water color crayons. These crayons are the only way to water color in my opinion. They actually work well for me ... I am a bit watercolor challenged. On Tuesday I will finally have a tutorial for you all again so stay tuned .... Happy Stamping!

Card and Specials

I wanted to let you all know about the promotions Stampin' Up is having in addition to the Retirement List. One is the Love You Much promotion and the other is an inventory blowout. Click the link to download the flyer's both have some super product!! Be sure to check them out.

Here is a card I made for a monochromatic swap I did.

I've used this set several times lately and I have to tell you I wasn't very fond of it when I got it free at convention. Matter of fact I really disliked like and almost gave it away. I'm glad I didn't because it sure has grown on me!! Happy Stamping!

Sunflower and a Tag

I have many favorite things and sunflowers are definitely one of them.I own just about every stamp Stampin' Up has made using a Sunflower and any other's that I've seen. This was another card I had made for my Secret Sis a bit back. You can't tell to much in the picture I always say that you would think by know I would have figured out how to take better pictures but the sunflower is coated in pearlx making is sparkle just a bit. Sometimes I have an aversion to white so I dirtied up the edges some.

So what do you think?

I've been tagged by Marie. I haven't done this on before and thought it was kinda neat. Basically the rules are open your 4th picture file and upload the 4th picture. So this is mine:

Wow!! I can't believe how clean my desk was. It sure hasn't looked like this in forever. Plus I've changed the set up a bit. I know keep my stamp pads in air tight containers. So know I have to tag 4 people so .... Jennie, Michelle, Frenchie, and Saxontoy. Happy Stamping!

Thinking of You

I made this card from some scraps I had. I needed to make a few Birthday type cards quickly so I pulled out my scraps and found I had already stamp a bunch of Thinking of You sentiments on these white rectangles. Plus I had plenty of the Green Galore scraps so I added it to Tangerine Tango and add the flowery stamp from Friendship Blooms.

Recipe: Stamp Set - Friendship Blooms; Ink - Tangerine Tango, Green Galore; Cardstock - Tangerine Tango, Green Galore, Whisper White; Accessories - Green Galore Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, Mini Brads (not SU).
