Bon Voyage Blog Hop - Big Birthday Candle

Welcome to Port of Call #11 on Stampin' Addicts 2009 Bon Voyage Blog Hop!

Nestled snugly between Ports of Call #10 (Melina's presentation of Snow Burst) and #12 (Dawnmarie's creations with Big Bold Birthday), here we explore Stampin' Up! Big Birthday Candle stamp set.One announcement before disembarking: the tour links are only active through 11:59 pm Tuesday June 16; after that, many hostesses will post more details on projects you see today. Bookmark your favorite stops now--on return visits, you'll bypass customs & immigration and go straight to the fun!

This first project I made showcasing Big Birthday Candle also uses the Matchbox Die:

Sparkly ... who doesn't love sparkles!?! The recipient of this little gift will be sure to love what's inside too! I know it's a bit bigger than the matchbox die and if you tune in on the next Technique Tuesday I will show you how.

Recipe: Stamp Set - Big Birthday Candle; Cardstock - Raspberry Tart DSP, Pink Pirouette and Kiwi Kiss ; Ink - Kiwi Kiss ; Accessories - Old Olive 5/8 Grosgrain Ribbon, Matchbox Die, BS, Dimensionals, Versamarker and Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder.

As you all know I have 2 boys so I try to make masculine cards, sometimes I get them just right and other times not quite. But this one came out almost as intended:

The center by the candles was missing something and I must have spent an hour trying to figure it out. Finally I ended up with the ribbon pieces and it work so I left it.

Recipe: Stamp Set - Big Birthday Candle; Cardstock - Rockabilly Specialty DSP, Whisper White, Basic Black and Basic Gray ; Ink -Versamark, Basic Gray and Kiwi Kiss; Accessories - Black Embossing Powder, Sponge, Dimensionals, Black Grosgrain 1/4 Grosgrain Ribbon and Silver Brads.

My last project is for sure my favorite!! I just love how it came out!! So here is my 6x6 Scrapbook Page:

Isn't it cool!! Just perfect for the Fourth of July ... so be sure to get this set before we say Bon Voyage!!

Recipe: Stamp Set - Big Birthday Candle; Cardstock - Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Whisper White and Brushed Silver; Ink - Versamark, Real Red and Brilliant Blue ; Accessories - Silver Embossing Powder, Dimensionals, Star Punch and Large Star Punch.

In case you missed the link for the next port at the top of the page here it is again Dawnmarie's creations. Happy Stamping!!

My favorite is the scrapbook page. I'm liking the smaller size and I have 8x8 albums myself.

Wonderful what you've done with this stamp set Carmen!

I really like the scrap page and the fireworks effect. The longer matchbox is also very cool can't wait to see how you did that. And knowing boys I bet they loved the pirate skull candles!

Yikes, ANOTHER retiring set I now "need", lol. Carmen-these are fantastic! Love the look of the candle on a long/lean card and the colors are gorgeous together. The skull candles are so stinkin' COOL-love how your colored the flame, too! All I can say is, "WOW" to that scrapbook page-I'd put it in a shadowbox so as not to crush the firecrackers cuz they ROCK! TFS!!
