Almost Artisan Project #1

As I was saying several posts back I entered the Artisan Contest that Stampin' Up! held and I wish I could say I was a winner. In some rights I am though because I really went out there and tried ... this was my first time entering and I learned lots!

As I was getting the photo cropped and ready I noticed that I forgot to take a couple of pictures so I only have 8 projects to share ... what's even worse I can't remember what the 5th card I sent even was! Anyways here is the first card I made:

It uses the Flores Suaves stamp set in the Spanish Supplement; one of my favorites because of that cute little butterfly! I don't usually use so many layers but it worked out perfectly for this card. The background layer I did the reinker spread technique in reverse and LOVE how it came out. I water colored the butterfly after I embossed the image and then spritzed it with shimmer paint. So what all do you think?? Happy Stamping!

ETA: I also wanted to share the sites to the other gals who are posting or have already posted their submissions!! A ton of creativity out there and some super ideas!! So when you get a chance check them out :)

Happy Mother's Day

I hope that all of you have a wonderful Mother's Day! Here area couple of the cards we gave out!!

This one is for my Mom who's favorite color is red. I did the reinker spread technique on this one and love the color that's came out. I used Real Read and Night of Navy. I sprayed the flower and white cardstock piece with shimmer paint mist. You can see all the shimmery mist in the card to the left. I also used the scallop border punch on the Bashful Blue cardstock and added a piece of Bashful Blue ribbon. I used the stamp set Fifth Avenue Floral.

This is one I made for my Hubby's Grandma! I used the Blossom Party die to make the flowers. I also spritzed the flowers and white cardstock piece with the shimmer paint (gotta LOVE that stuff!). I also used the scallop border punch on this one too! I used a small paint brush to to roll the edges of the flowers to give them more texture. Happy Mother's Day!

6x6 Reinker Spread

When I do workshops I tend to favor 6x6 scrapbook pages and when I came up with this one I wanted to showcase a technique I haven't shared in a class yet. So I came up with this spread:

This technique is one that has been around for a short time done originally by Crystal French I believe. I call it the reinker spread but I believe it has a different technical term. I favor the purple and green colors a lot lately and picked those colors in this page ... obviously. I used Certainly Celery and Perfect Plum, after the colors were soaked in I spritzed the image with my shimmer paint which you can see better in the close up picture to the left. I used the scallop trim punch along one edge of the Perfect Plum cardstock strip. To get the different colors on the saying I used my markers. I then topped off the whole look with Certainly Celery ribbon. It's definitely one of my favorite pages I've done lately!

Happy Stamping!

The last project ...

Here is the last project I made for my friend to friend swap. The challenge for this one was to make something using a new technique. I know I'm a bit late on the whole bandwagon but I finally decided to try the technique designed by Crystal French. I can't recall what she actually calls it but I'm sure someone will remind me :) So anyways here is what I made:

Isn't it lovely!!! I used the Noteworthy stamp set on this one too. Along with my friend jumbo wheel. I left the glass out of the frame so show off the butterfly.

Here is a close up of the butterfly. I used so saffron and pale blue re-inkers for the colors and when they overlapped they created that pretty green. The embossing powder I used is one of the one's SU carried so long ago called Confetti Celebrations that has pink, yellow and blue in it.

I almost kept this one too! Well I know my SS Michelle loved her package and I hope you all enjoyed seeing it too! Happy Stamping!
