Notepad Matchbook

Jennie who is new to our group made a cute little pad and crayon matchbook holder for us all to make. Since I don't have any little one's anymore I changed it more to be a note pad matchbook.

I didn't add the image until I came home and thought the shopping bag from Things I Love which worked out perfectly. Happy Stamping!

Colorful 3x3

The next project was done Kasie and I think it is too cute!

I always forget to put bold colors together and forget how good they look. This would be a great little tag for a birthday gift! Happy Stamping!

Spring Goodie Bag

This little gift treat bag would be perfect for an Easter treat or even made for a little girl's birthday party and it was created by Sharon.

The butterfly's are made using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit die and the colors match with the M&M's.

Beartastic

The next "card" we made was created by Jen and uses the Build a Bear!

Her original card was a baby card but I didn't have anyone that was having a baby so I changed it up a bit to be a Birthday card. What's cool about this one is it would be a great invite to a sleep over since the top note looks like sleeping bag and the white information part would pull out to be a blanket!!

Demo Get Together and Blog Award

The other day a bunch of friends, who are also all demo's got together to have a day of stamping fun and boy was it fun!!! Especially getting together with Marti who came up from Washington and I hadn't seen since Convention '08!! So over the next week or so I'll show you all the creations from our shoe box swap.

This first one was from Judi and forgive me because I can't remember if she said this one was inspired by someone else or not.

I love this card!! First it uses the Beautiful Wings Embosslit die from the mini catalog which I just finally got mine! But the colors go together perfectly ... the DSP is from the Sweet Pea pack that is also in the mini catalog. Well actually just about everything is from it, it is a great mini!!

I got this awesome blog award from Nita and you can see her blog here. As part of the rules I have to mention 7 things about myself and then pass this award to 15 other bloggers:

1.) I don't work where I live and I hate to drive! Good combo huh!!
2.) I am a huge procrastinator!! I am always waiting until the last minute!
3.) I am rather unorganized at home but at work I am super organized.
4.) I could totally be a hermit.
5.) I'm not a people person; another surprising thing when you consider my real job well actually everything I do.
6.) I collect things ... hence my stamping addiction.
7.) I love the outdoors and all the season we get in AZ.

Here's who I'm passing the "Beautiful Blogger Award" to:

Brandi - http://www.brandiwiggins.com/ - I wish I could be as cool as her!!
Renee - http://reneevs.blogspot.com/
Cindy - http://www.cindymajor.typepad.com/
Ilina - http://ilinacrouse.blogspot.com/
Shelley - http://jaspere-jaspereslittlecorner.blogspot.com/
Jennie - http://stampawaytheday.blogspot.com/
Traci - http://www.tracigentry.typepad.com/

I was supposed to pick 15 but I'm short on time so I will try to add a few more later on.

6x6 Reinker Spread

When I do workshops I tend to favor 6x6 scrapbook pages and when I came up with this one I wanted to showcase a technique I haven't shared in a class yet. So I came up with this spread:

This technique is one that has been around for a short time done originally by Crystal French I believe. I call it the reinker spread but I believe it has a different technical term. I favor the purple and green colors a lot lately and picked those colors in this page ... obviously. I used Certainly Celery and Perfect Plum, after the colors were soaked in I spritzed the image with my shimmer paint which you can see better in the close up picture to the left. I used the scallop trim punch along one edge of the Perfect Plum cardstock strip. To get the different colors on the saying I used my markers. I then topped off the whole look with Certainly Celery ribbon. It's definitely one of my favorite pages I've done lately!

Jumbo Cupcake

When Simple Birthday Thanks came out last year I just had to have the stamp; so of course I go it. But then it sat there on the shelf just waiting and waiting to get used so I figured it was about time and I made this:

This card is super fun and super bright. I used our current in colors which really make it pop! I think that technically the card is considered a tent topper since it hangs above the card base. If you look at the close up here to the side you will see all the dimension the top of the cupcake has. To make the frosting look I spread crystal effects around then added some glitter. I used the crimper on the cupcake base and my white gel pen to add some dimension to the card base.

Green Beer Anyone?

Here is the card I made for St. Patrick's Day!

This was another card I showed at my April workshop. We used the Cheers to You stamp set and made the beer mug green just for this occasion and added a few circle and scallop using the bigshot dies. The card stands slightly bigger than 3x3. Happy Stamping!

A Bit More Vintage ...

Vogue that is. This set has quickly become my go to set. I like the simplicity of it and all the different looks you can get from it.

This was another card I showed at my most recent workshop. This card used the Very Vintage wheel as well. The wheel is the perfect accent for this stamp set and many others. I did the two tone effect using markers which added a nice touch and more color to the card. I added a corduroy brad in the center of one flower ... I have a tendency to hoard these. Of course I also spritzed it with shimmer paint.

Birdhouses Big Shot Style

I am sure by now everyone has seen the birdhouses made out of the Mini Milk Carton die, but here are a few more.

We made this little cuties at a in home workshop I held. Everyone had a lot of fun making them even though we punched the hole on the wrong side in the yellow one. Next time I think I will have to fancy it up a bit more.

Cub Scout Shirts

As some of you know I also a leader for a Cub Scout pack and one of the activities boys had to do this month was to make a simple stencil and use it on a T-Shirt. So I took the Elegant Trio stencil and used the Fluer-de-lis, after all that is the main emblem for the Scouts. I had the boys trace it onto a stencil sheet which they cut out to use on their shirts.

Some of them came out a little wonky so we used the original to stencil on their shirts instead and sponged on the paint. We used a metallic fabric paint so that's why you see the glittery effect in the picture. After that we wrote their names over the Fluer-de-lis. The boys had a lot of fun AND the now have a class b uniform they can wear. Happy Stamping!

Comparison

I've had a couple gals how big the Mini Milk Carton die is, so I made a demo one to compare

As you can see the carton measures about as tall and wide as our tape dispenser. But just because it is small doesn't mean you can have some fun with it! I've seen bird houses, milk crates, and lots of other things made with them and hopefully soon I'll have a chance to make some too. Happy Stamping!

Vintage Vogue - Mini Card

This little mini card I made because I had some pieces left over from the scrapbook page I made:

The card measures 3 x 4. To make the circle flower I took a strip that I had run through the eyelet border punch and wrapped it around a punched circle. I added all the extra pieces around it to add some dimension. I like to looked at cards to make into scrapbook pages but it's fun to do it the other way around too! So what do you think?

Vintage Vogue Scrapbook Page

Here is the last item I sent in for the Display Stamper application and it was my favorite. I actually almost did not send it because I wanted to keep it and frame it. Guess I will have to make another one!!
The page is a 8 1/2 x 11 which not a size I normally do but now that I have I might do them more often! Actually I need to just scrapbook more often ... I haven't in too long. The picture is my Hubby and I, a rare photo to begin with and my little one took it. He's is getting much better a photography!! My favorite part of this page is the side detail which you can see here in a close up. I made the flowers using my eyelet border punch giving them a more elegant vintage feel. So what do you think?

Vintage Vogue Collage

When I made the scrapbook page in the last post I had a few pieces left over and since I didn't want to waste the pieces I used them on this card.

This card is rather simple and it uses most of the stamps in the Vintage Vogue set in more of a collage type style. I crimped a small section at the bottom and added a button with a paper bow on the bottom right to help with the visual flow. What do you think?
