Stampin' Addicts Summer Mini Blog Hop - The Open Sea

Welcome to Stampin' Addicts 2011 summer mini blog hop!! Come join us for a tour of the wonderful products Stampin' Up! has to offer in the latest mini!! If you are following the hop in order than you just came from Allison's site Sweet Impressions where she featured the Nautical Expedition DSP. I'll be featuring the set The Open Sea which goes perfectly with this paper!

I decided to make a card first and I love how this came out!!

My husband thought it was very Americana which wasn't my intention it just worked out that way!

I knew I wanted to create a scrapbook page and this idea has been haunting me for a bit now so I finally put it to use to make this page.

Lastly I made this little gift trio box and I've gotta say this was my favorite project!!

It'll be a perfect Father's Day gift filled with some chocolate and maybe a nice little love note!! After the hop I will post each project with a little more detail so be sure to stop back by, or you can subscribe and get email notifications when I post to my blog.

Hope that you have enjoyed the hop so far but there is still plenty more to see. So head on over to Sarah's Ink Spot where she is showcasing Pretty Postage. Happy Stamping!!

My Digital Studio - Strength and Hope

The other day ok maybe it was a few weeks ago I shared a card using the Strength and Hope stamp set, and today I am going to share my first hybrid card I made using the digital download version of this set.
I have been a bit intimidated by the whole digital process and had only used my MDS for inside of cards or flyers o I finally bit the bullet to make this card and let me tell you I love it!! The card and the program ... there is a bit of a learning curve which I hope to have figured out soon especially the printing. The base of the card and tag was done with the MDS program. I did stamp the butterfly traditionally and I added the crumb cake and rose red strips with regular cardstock as well as the accessories.

Stampin' Up! will also donate $2 towards Breast Cancer Research Foundation if you purchase the download just remember it's not available to purchase until May 1st. Happy Stamping!!

Happy Easter

Just wanted to wish each of you a Happy Easter! A few weeks back Shelli (the CEO of Stampin' Up) posted on her website some super cute decorated eggs she had made. I thought they were too cute so I had to make one myself!

They were actually pretty simple to do. I just covered a large plastic egg with strips of paper using decoupage. I let it dry then stamped my image around various spots of the eggs and let me just say the cling stamps sure make that easy to do with odd shaped surface!! After that just added some extra touches with the brads and ribbon. I think it came out great!! Happy Stamping!!

Speed Racer

The other day my Son and I needed to work on his derby car for our packs races .... literally the night before. He had wanted something thin so he decided on doing a speed limit sign. So you are probably wondering how exactly this works with stamping right? He actually created his "sign" using our My Digital Studio program.

Basically he used the punches on a MDS project rounded the corners and then added the black mating. He then added text to create his wording and lastly he added the little turtle to the bottom. After he made his creation and printed it he cut it down to fit the wood and glued it on. We did add some shimmer paint to make the sign's look kind of pearly. He had a lot of fun making it and his car was pretty fast too! It was the fastest car in the pack, which was a first for him!! Happy Stamping!!

Scrapbook Page Pouch

I am working on a secret sister gift and this will be part of it. It is one of those that I have been working on. It is something I made previous and did a Tutorial on before, basically I used a 6x6 album page and adhered it to a base with a flap. To keep the flap down I attached some felt so that it can be open like a pouch. You can also see the other one's that I made here and here. I used the die Fun Flowers to make the flower and the DSP I used is the hostess sampler pack. I will be filling it with some stamped images that she requested. You could easily make this into a 6x6 scrapbook page as well! Happy Stamping!!

Strength & Hope Sneak Peak

I haven't posted much because it has been crazy busy here .... I have hardly been home much less had time to create. So today I made sometime to make this card using the set Strength & Hope.

First I have to tell you that Stampin" Up! is donating $2 for every set purchased to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation as well as the digital kit of this set just as soon as this set is released in the summer mini catalog which is May 1st. I love this card and it has a bunch of different elements to it which I think makes this card and to be honest is more than I normally add. I hope you like it too!! Happy Stamping!!
