Stampin' Addicts New Catalog Blog Hop - Watercolor Wings

http://www.stampinaddicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9580&p=435436

Welcome to the new catalog blog hop hosted by Stampin' Addicts!  We have some wonderful projects to share with you today!  If you are hopping in order you just came from Yapha's who showcased You're Sublime.

I have created projects using one of my favorite stamps set called Watercolor Wings!!  Who doesn't love butterflies?!  I also love that it has a matching die set so no fussy cutting!!  I love this first card ... something about the greens. I used the new in colors Mint Macaron and Cucumber Crush and they layered well together!

Using neutrals is always a favorite of mine and I had these scraps lying around on my desk so used them to create this vintage looking card.  I wish I was able to get a picture of the details but the butterfly is dry embossed so it pops up just a little bit, it gives it a really nice effect.

My last project and my favorite one today is this treat box.  I used two of the largest butterflies on either end of a box so it props it up.  I love this color color combo!!  Watermelon Wonder and Tip Taupe Taupe, I just stamped off once to get the two shades of Watermelon.  I'll be using this color combo again!

Thank you for joining our New Catalog hop and I hope you enjoyed all the projects I shared.  Please hop on to the next stop so you can see the awesome projects created by Tanya using Market Fresh.  Happy Stamping!!

Vintage Florals - Beautiful Bunch

When the new catalog came out I knew I had to have the new flower set called Beautiful Bunch!  I also loved that Stampin' Up! created a matching punch for this set called Fun Flower!!  Talk about making cutting out these flowers a snap!

This card uses the stamp set and coordinating punch I mentioned above but also uses one of our new In Colors Lost Lagoon.  This color looks stunning with crumb cake as shown here and has a perfect tone for the vintage look.  If you look closely you will also notice I used a few other new goodies; the fun frames embossing folder as well as a snippet the baked brown sugar think baker's twine!

I shared this card during one of my recent workshops and I like how you can keep it simple like the card on the left or if you want to step it up you can add a little extra bling to it like the one on the right.  Both look great!!  Happy Stamping!!

The Beauty of Neutrals

Over on Split Coast Stampers we are almost done with our August Creative Crew gone wild challenges!  My challenge to everyone this month was to take a step back to when it wasn't all about color and create a project using only our neutral color family.  You could add any accessory or embellishment you liked but still had to be in the same color family! So there was still plenty of bling to choose from!   Here is my masterpiece!

For my card I used Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla as my color scheme. The stamp set is one of my all time favorites ... Papillon Potpourri!!  For me it was the accessories that really made this card pop!!  They were the wide burlap ribbon, neutral chevron ribbon, linen thread, and vintage faceted buttons. And no project is complete without using the big shot; the decorative dots and fun frames embossing folders added just the right texture!.

I loved this challenge and I hope you do to!  There is a new crew starting next month so be sure to stop by and check out the new challenges each month!  Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Addicts - New Catty Blog Hop - Perfect Blend

Welcome to Stampin' Addicts New Catalog blog hop!  We are showcasing all new stamp sets from the 2013-2014 catalog.  My blog is the second stop on the hop but if you started here it's okay as we are all linked together!!  If you started in order than you just came from Stampin' with Paula who made some wonderful projects using Timeless Talk.

There are so many fun new stamps that I had a hard time picking which stamp set to work with but I finally decide to go with Perfect Blend.  The coffee cup is just waaay to cute even though I don't drink coffee!

My first project, well actually it was the last one I made, is a cute little gift that you could give to just about anyone!!I just used a square 4x4 piece of cardstock and formed it into a cone to create the pouch.  I then decorated it with some of the new chevron ribbon (LOVE!) and a cut out coffee cup that I watercolored to match my color scheme which I took from the colors in the coffee packets.  To get the striped band I used the set Six-Sided Sampler.

My next project is a sweet and simple card and it's slightly smaller than your average card measuring 4 1/2x 4 1/2.  I stamped the main coffee cup image, I watercolored the lid and cut the band out from a scrap of Natural Composition DSP.  Too get the Strawberry Slush polka dots I again used the Six Sided Sampler stamp set.

This next card is slightly more stepped up card, still simple but has more bling to it!  Here I stamped the coffee cup and watercolored the lid and band with pool party.  I created the strips with you guessed it the Six Sided Sampler set with masking to keep all the strips on the cup.  I added some more of the fun chevron ribbon and candy dots (fun embellishment!).

My last card is a bit over the top and sort of has a vintage feel!  On the base I made coffee stains using my lid of plastic embellishment cases.  I stamped two coffee cups and colored them again with watercoloring and yes the Six Sided Sampler for the bands.  I used a bunch of different embellishments; paper clay, candy dots, ruffled ribbon and natural trim.  If you look closely at the bow you will see that it is slightly scorched.  I did this by running my heat gun over it to give it the worn look.

I hope you enjoyed my projects as much as I did making them!!  The next stop on the hop is Lily's Ink Pad where she is sharing some awesome projects using Tag It!  Happy Stamping!!

Stampin' Addicts - New Colors Blog Hop Baked Brown Sugar

Welcome to Stampin' Addicts New In Color blog hop!!  This years 2013-2015 in color set is stunning; I love how they coordinate with all of our current colors!!

The previous blog Tanya with Tinkerin In Ink showcased Crushed Curry and made some super projects!!

I am featuring the perfect brown shade we have ever had ... Baked Brown Sugar.  It's a great color for masculine and vintage cards ... and well just about everything!!

My first project uses the stamp set Simply Stars. The core color of course is Baked Brown Sugar which really lends itself to making this a more masculine type card.  I coordinated it with crumb cake and very vanilla, which is perfect for a monochromatic color scheme.

I decided I wanted to make this mini vintage card or tag .  I sponged Baked Brown Sugar along all of the Very Vanilla pieces to add a nice vintage look.  Sweetly Framed was the stamp set I used which is only available if you are a hostess.

My last project is one I made for my New Catalog open house.  I used the set Perfect Blend as Baked Brown Sugar is the perfect coffee shade as well Coastal Cabana card stock to really make this project pop!  The buttons are made using our awesome new Pressed Clay and button molds!!  That stuff is amazing!

I hope that you enjoyed the projects I showed!  The next stop on the hop is Rhonda at The Stampin' Bunny who is sharing some fantastic projects using Coastal Cabana!  Happy Stamping!!

Catching Up

I have a bunch of card to share that have been in my vault for the last few months. Mostly they were hidden away because I didn't want to give myself away to my secret sister. This is a card I made using the set You're My Type that was from the last mini catalog. I think the typewriter is perfect for masculine cards!! Happy Stamping!!

One Last Vintage Vogue Card

Here's another card I created for my retirement party/workshop. I used the set Vintage Vogue which I am soo said to see retire!  I went with a vintage theme for this card and I thought the Daffodil Delight was a bit brighter than I wanted to a crimped a piece until it was pretty flimsy and then separate the layers and the inside was slightly lighter so I used that side.  Plus it has a nice fleece like texture. I rocked and rolled the Friends image to get both colors, Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede.  Then stamped flowers an cut them out.  I layered two soft suede ones to get the large flower.  Added some ribbon, pearls and lattice die piece to pull it all together.  Happy Stamping!!

Vintage Roses

For this card I used You Are Loved that was in the Holiday mini, I really like this set and hopefully it will make into the big catty in June! I stamped the main image with markers so I could get both colors and then added some iridescent ice to make it sparkle a bit! I used the coordinating wheel Love Blossoms to create the "dsp" piece. I also ran the base through the big shot using the Frame Tulips EF to give it some dimensions and then sponged the raised edges. Lastly add a bit of ribbon and some coordinating cardstock to pull it all together!!Happy Stamping!!

Faith in Nature

I love this card! I love the color combination but I also love all of the different elements to this card. I embossed the concord crush piece with my hounds-tooth folder inked with elegant eggplant to get the two toned effect. The pear was inked with clear embossing powder then I sponged over it old olive and early espresso. The vanilla piece I ran through my crimper before I pleated it to the card ... it gave it a really cool effect! Lots of detail but lots of fun! Hope you like it as much as I do! Happy Stamping!

Strength & Hope

Wow I've had this card to share for quite awhile, I have this card from a workshop I had back in May. Can you tell it's been busy around here? I love this card, it's just something about this color combo that I just love! Plus the vintage feel really adds to it too! I rocked and rolled the butterfly image with riding hood red and cherry cobbler to give it a bit more texture. Other than that it was a bit of shading and a lot of sponging! Happy Stamping!!

Display Boards - Best Friends Forever

The other day someone asked me to describe my style and really I think it's kind of all over the place. This same person looked over a bit of my worked and mentioned I seemed to gravitate towards vintage and distressing. I never noticed that but this card fits into what she said. Isn't it funny how other people notice things about you but you don't notice them about yourself? This is another simple card that would be great to send to a friend to just say Hi or to say you are thinking about them. Happy Stamping!

BTW I am hosting Thirty-one party today if you are in the neighborhood and want to stop by. You can email me for details or if you can't make it and would like to order something you can do it here http://www.mythirtyone.com/shop/preshop.aspx AND have it shipped directly to you! I'm getting one of the All In One Organizers to hold my swaps!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day! I don't have a Father's Day card to show you but rather a masculine I Love You, which works too!!

This one was also done with letterpress plates! I love how it came out kinda rustic, vintage look! Happy Stamping!!

Strength & Hope Sneak Peak

I haven't posted much because it has been crazy busy here .... I have hardly been home much less had time to create. So today I made sometime to make this card using the set Strength & Hope.

First I have to tell you that Stampin" Up! is donating $2 for every set purchased to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation as well as the digital kit of this set just as soon as this set is released in the summer mini catalog which is May 1st. I love this card and it has a bunch of different elements to it which I think makes this card and to be honest is more than I normally add. I hope you like it too!! Happy Stamping!!
