Sassy Stamper's Challenge #8

I belong to a super talent blogging group and I do mean talented!! Well this month the challenge was to create a scrapbook page using 3 colors, at least one embellishment and the page had to be a 6x6 layout. SO I've been pondering this all month and finally decided on this cute little page:

I used my new favorite in color kiwi kiss ... it figures I would finally like this color and it'll get discontinued in June/July. Anyway to make the worn out gray piece I used some DSP paper from the sale-bration paper pack crumbled it and than ran my sanding block over it, lastly I add a touch of kiwi kiss using the small flower from Simply Said. I also ad a little background color using kiwi kiss with a bigger flower from the same set, I also used to flower to add a bit to my friend tag. And my one lone accessory was one the rinestone brads. Since I needed one more color I added a piece of white naturals to mat the picture with. Hope they all like it!

What do you hoard?

For the friend to friend swap one of the other assignments was to make a card using something you hoard. Well I'm a hoarder of all things so I had plenty of things to pick from. My pretties kit is by far one of those things so I came up with this little beauty:

I almost kept this card because I liked it so much. Nice and clean and when I made this card I realized that I am actually fond of this color (Kiwi Kiss) which I would have told you before that I thought this color was ugly.

Alter it up

Since the friend to friend swap is over I thought I would share the goodies I made. One of our assignments was to alter something. I've been wanting to make a post it note holder for a while but never had a reason to make one so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to do so.
I came up with this little cutie:

If you remember correctly I got the set I used for free in an oops order and SU let me keep it. The set is Wild Rose and has been retired for a bit. The holder is made using an acrylic picture frame. So whatcha think?

Friend to Friend Swap

My up-line and some friends of hers put together this yahoo group and we often swap, talk, support each other, share stories, and swap. We have all become good friends but as most of us only see each other on occasion. Someone suggested that it would be fun to have a swap where the goal was to get to know each better so this last month we had a friend to friend swap. We were given challenges each week to complete something for our "sister" and at the end of the time you sent your box of goodies out. These are all the wonderful cards I got:

Aren't they simple wonderful? I loved each and everyone of them. My "sister" was the super talented Marie. If you click on her name you will see her fantastic blog. She has better pictures too! I'm the worst at getting good lighting for my pictures and it shows whenever I snap a pic. Anyways I'll be showing the items I made for my sis and explain the challenges as I do. Happy Stamping!

Home Sweet Home

When the new catalog came out Just Buzzin' By was the first stamp set I just had to get. Probably because I am a huge bee collector. I have all things bee like. This is the card I made using this set.

Don't you just love it?!?! I sure do! And when you open it up you get this:
cute little bumble bee on the inside. Happy Stamping!!

Butterfly 6x6

For my own scrapbooks I always do a 12x12 spread but when I have a class I always seem to do 6x6 pages. They are usually less intimidating for someone to do. A lot less space to fill up too!!

I made this one and it was super simple to do. Just stamp a few butterfly's in different colors on the background add strip of paper and a background piece and it's all done. Well except for the picture. I promise it's not as intimidating as you think. Give scrapbooking a try.

Evening with the Scouts

Last week was our Cub Scout packs Blue and Gold. Our pack was doing a heritage night and the boys had to do a report on their different ethnic back grounds. They also had to make a traditional food to share with the pack. So I thought it would be cool to make up a passport for each of the boys and as they "traveled" to different countries they could have their passport stamped. So I came up with this:

I made 20 of them in different colors for each boy. Everyone really liked them and they were able to keep them as keepsakes for the evening.

I stamped the image using timber brown staz on on the foam. To do the pressed image I just heated the foam then ink the image and stamped. I printed the word passport from my computer and punched it out as well as stamping the luggage. I attached them to the side using cording. Happy Stamping!
