Display Stamper Submissions

Stampin' Up! recently did a call for the opportunity to be a Display Stamper and of course I wanted to try out!!  So here are my submissions.I used only two stamp sets for all of my projects Swallowtail from the current mini catalog and Loving Thoughts from the main catalog.

Usually for Display Stamping you make small type projects but since this was to show my stamping style I did make some larger projects.  This first project is one of two of the 3d items I created, it's a folder pocket that I created to hold those super cute chocolate carrots.

This next project is a picture frame that I plan on hanging in my craft room ... just love the colors!!

The next three projects are my card submissions.  Each one uses the Swallowtail in a different way.

Lastly is my scrapbook page and this one is over the top!! In my opinion the picture just does not do it justice!!  It's also not the way I usually scrapbook but I still love it!!  I'm thinking this one is going to end up in a shadowbox.

Later on I will post some more information detailing each project, supplies, closeups and how I got so many different sizes of butterfly's with just one stamp ... so stayed tuned!  Happy Stamping!!

Creative Crew - March Scrapbook Focus

This next project is for the Scrapbook Focus. The sketch for the page is to the right.

Here's the info on the challenge if you would like to join us - CCREW0312SF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Scrapbook focus: Use the attached layout and show us a Bright, cheerful, happy page to celebrate spring's arrival. It doesn't have to be about spring, just colorful, cheery, and it just makes you smile.

For this page I used photos from Convention and I used the My Digital Studio software! I am getting better at using it but I still love traditional scrapbooking more, I fell I use too much when I make digital pages were I would normally take the less is more approach. But I love that you can change your mind in an instant with out having to take anything apart! The digital kits I used for this are For All You Do, Enjoy Every Moment and Summer Home. If you would like to try My Digital Studio for FREE for a month you can download if from my Stampin' Up! Website here. Happy Stamping!!

Creative Crew - February Scrapbook Focus

Join us for this months Creative Crew challenges!! Here is the challenge for the scrapbook focus:

CCREW0212SF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Scrapbook focus: Create a scrapbook page or project that showcases someone/something you love! The sky's the limit here, listen to your heart and honor it!

I decide to use My Digital Studio to create this project. I'm trying to become more familiar with using this software for actual scrapbooking. Normally I use it to make flyers and recipe pages this is my second MDS page ever so it's still a bit out of my comfort zone. We went camping out at Dead Horse Ranch the other day so I decided you use those pictures since it features "a few of my favorite things" ... my Family, camping and toasting up some s'mores!! It's not a perfect page but I love it! The camping images are a MDS set called Happy Camper; I soo wish this was a stamp set! Happy Stamping!

I'm not sure if I had a chance to share with you all yet that for the months of January - April I get to be on the SplitcoastStampers Stampin' Up! creative crew!! I was soo excited to be pick and on top of that I get to "design" with a whole bunch of people I admire!! Here's a list of the gals and their SCS screen names; Beedubya (Brandi), Carriejoe (Carrie), GWTW Junkie (Lyssa)
mandypandy (Amanda), Diane Vander Galien, Jeanstamping (Jeannine), Kirsteen Gill, Mzrobin (Robin), Qbee (Brenda). Pretty awesome crew huh?!?!

We have four challenges to do each month and this project was for the scrapbook challenge.

I have been wanting to make a scrapbook plate forever and I had a perfect picture to put on it. I used my newest big shot die the tasteful trim one to make the scallop border. I also used my leftovers of Merry Trees decor elements to add to my page as well as the stamp set tree trimmings.

If you would like to play along with the us here is the info on the challenge CCREW112SB, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM – SB inspiration focus: a past holiday (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hannukah, Christmas) SB page or decor item. Use your newest dies, texturz plates or embossing folders to create this beauty. Use one or use many big shot items. Just upload your projects to the splitcoast gallery be sure to use keywords above that are in blue. Happy Stamping!!

Display Stamper - Easy Events 12x12 Page

This is the last project I made as a display stamper and this one really was my favorite!! I used a picture from my youngest 10th Birthday Party and it was a great picture of him!! (Everyone says his a mini me ... attitude and all!) I just love everything about this page!! I started with the red base since that's his favorite color and then picked the blue to accent it. I cut out the large circle then matted it with the scallop border punch that I ran through the crimper so I could manipulate it around the circle. Lastly I matted that with smaller punched circles since I did not have a scallop that was anywhere near that size as well as the picture. I cut out the Happy Birthday saying with the big shot and the birthday decorative strip as well as some swirls. I used the cupcake from the easy events stamp set and colored them to match the cardstock colors and you can't really notice from te picture but I added iridescent ice to frosting to make it shine a bit. This was the only project I am recreating to have for myself as it was really hard to let it go!! Hope you like it as much as I do and Happy Stamping!!

Display Boards - Raining Flowers 12x12 Page

Scrapbooking was my first paper crafting craft and I still love to work on my albums when I get time, though I rarely share them here. Here is a 12x12 layout I made for the display boards using the Raining Flowers set. I had some pictures of these purple flowers and thought they would be perfect for this page. Since the flowers were purple I kept to the purple theme when creating this page. My favorite part of this page is the part in the photo to the left .... it would make a beautiful stand alone card as well. I just love that style of bow, someone asked how I make these bows and it'll be easier to show you then try to explain it so as soon as things settle a bit I will do a tutorial just don't be surprised if it doesn't happen until October, it's been crazy here. Happy stamping!!

12x12 Open Sea Page

Here is my details on the scrapbook page I made for the blog hop.

I am a pretty messy when I am creating .... I'm sure that's not a surprise to many of you. The tags were one of the last things I put together so I made them using scraps from my other projects. I used my square punch to make the ends of the tag so that they were all the same size and at the right angle, works perfectly! After I made the tags I slide them into baseball card sleeve that I cut down to the three pouches. Happy Stamping!!

Display Stamper Project #8 - So Many Thanks

Here is the scarpbook page I made using So Many Thanks.

I ran a long row of the stamp down the left side. I used my stampin-majig. It's a very simple page but I didn't want to take away from the picture which is a picture of the middle section of the traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. To top off the page I added the double ribbon bow. Happy Stamping!

Display Stamper Project #6 - Just Believe

Here was the scrapbook page I turned in. I didn't really have any picture that lent itself to this stamp except some pictures from one of our cub scout camp outs. I had a few different flower ones but decided to use the one with the rainbow to go with the sentiment.

I love how this page turned out and the image embossed with black worked perfectly with the tree from my picture. I think what I like most about it is the colors it really ties the whole project together! Happy Stamping!

Artisan Scrapbook Project #1

Since I never took a picture of my 5th card project I am going to move on to the scrapbook pages. Hopefully when I go to convention my last card project will be on the display boards and I can get a picture then.

This is a page of our crazy dog Aspen. It's a 12x12 spread. I made the title using My Digital Studio. The stamp set I used was D is for Dog. To make the paper bones I cut out chipboard with my big shot and the magnetic movers and shapers heart and tag pieces and then pieced them together to get the bone shape. I then covered them with cardstock from the patterns pack paper. Happy Stamping!!

Halloween Scrappin'

This was the other project we made the other day. Everyone came up with a different scrapbook page and if I thought of it I would have taken pictures of the other ones to share. I started off making a whole different page but changed my mind half way through. I like how this came out but I think it's still missing something (besides the pictures). I am sure I'll figure it out once I do add in the pics. After playing with this set I just might have to buy it and the wheel too. It sure was fun to get together!
