Stampin' Addicts Summer Mini Blog Hop - Sweet Scoops

Welcome to Stampin' Addicts Summer Sizzlin' Blog Hop!!!

This Blog Hop is sure to be steaming hot as we share projects featuring stamp sets from Stampin' Up's! hot new summer mini!

If you started this hop from the beginning then you just came from Yapha's where she featured the cool new builder wheels. How hot are those new wheels ... WOW the possibilities!!

Come on grab a chair and join me for some Ice Cream as I share some ideas using the chillin' Sweet Scoops set!

Whenever our family goes out to get Ice Cream we all pick something different so each of the first two cards feature some of our favorite Ice Cream flavors!! My all time favorite is sherbets any of them and all of them ... yummy!!! So here I mixed some of my favorite purple shades to showcase some of the sherbets flavors.

This next card is a flavor that all "the boys" in my house absolutely love ... Mint Chocolate Chip!!

Last I made this little gift set!

Hope you enjoyed the cool tastes of Sweet Scoops and now it's time to get the word from Barbara and check out In A Word. Be sure to come back after the blog hop to find out how I put together some of these cards. Happy Stamping!!

Hearts a Plenty

I'm not normally a heart person, it's rather rare when I need to use them when you've got two boys, but I just had to have the I {Heart} Hearts set!!

I had lots of fun putting all the heart styles together and it made a super fun card!! I love the bright bold colors!! Happy Stamping!

Messages for Mom

I originally got the Messages for Mom set because it had some great sayings! But I found I loved the little flower swoosh that was in it.

I started with the swoosh image and colored it in using my markers to get the different colors. I added a little iridescent ice in the larger flower to add some sparkle, then I spritzed it with my shimmer spray. Since I didn't have any chocolate colored brads I made some faux ones. I just used my marker to make small circles and embossed them with iridescent ice. I also used the Very Vintage wheel in Chocolate Chip along the edge of the card base. Happy Stamping!!

Vintage Vogue

This was a simple card I made using Vintage Vogue ... I sure hope this set makes it into the big catty!!

I didn't have any DSP that would work so I made my own! I just took a strip of Whisper White paper and used the small flower to add a design. Whats great about doing this is that you can always have DSP that matches in color and style for anything you make! Happy Stamping!

Garden from the Heart part 2

This is the second card I made using Garden from the Heart set. I loved this one!!

I made this one a couple of months later than the last one I shared. I find sometimes it goods just to put a set aside if you are struggling creating with it and usually it works better the next time I try it, that was the case with this card. The sash was again created with DSP and I added a rhinestone brads to the center. Old Olive works extremely well with Rich Razzleberry. I colored in the image with our watercolor pencils. Happy Stamping!!

Garden from the Heart

The ending period for the occasion mini is about here and I still have a few projects made from featured stamps sets I'd like to show. I made the following one with Garden from the Heart.

I made this one for my secret sister and was the first time I tried this set. I actually found this set hard to use, but did manage a few cards I liked. I made the sash with DSP and used microbeads on the center clip like thing. I tried putting a shadow behind the hat to make it more 3-dimensional. Happy Stamping!

Butterfly Decor

As I am getting my posts done for the next several days I noticed I have a thing for butterflies lately ... must be because I want it to be SPRING around in these parts!! I'm so tired of cold ugly weather!!! Since I'm not seeing any butterflies here around these parts I'll just keep making my own!!

Here's a cute little framed butterfly art decor I made. I know now really springy but I love these colors together!!! They are Bravo Burgundy, Night of Navy and Bashful Blue ... yummy! It's really hard to tell but the butterflies are spritzed with shimmer paint and they really sparkle in person! The butterfly was made with the Beautiful Butterfly die and some extra rubber I had, since I made it they came out with Butterfly Accent stamp. I added a little texture using the vine cluster from Vintage Vogue. The longer strip is made using the faux flannel technique and the bottom strip I used the scallop trim punch on. Happy Stamping!!

Butterfly Scrapbook Page

I have to tell confess I bought the Beautiful Wings embosslit as soon as we could and it sat on the counter for months all while everyone had to wait months just to get theirs ... I know quite a scandal. BUT I did finally use it and it makes me happy!! What an awesome embosslit it is too ... so in case you haven't gotten yours yet you can place an order on my demo website before you can't get it anymore!!

This is a 6x6 page and I used several purple tones in it; Elegant Eggplant, Pale Plum, and Perfect Plum .... I'm so going to miss my purples!!! I also used the Very Vintage wheel to add some texture along the side! Happy Stamping!!

Messages for Mom

Here is a card I showed made at my last workshop. It's another easel card which I have yet to figure out how to get a good picture of when it is open.

The color combo I used here is Barely Banana and Rose Red. (I'm going to have to stock up on Barely Banana just for my personal stash.) The DSP is from the Welcome Neighbor paper pad. If you pop up the pictures for a closer look you will notice a LOT of shimmer!!! Happy Stamping!!

Spice it Up

I'm sure that most of you keep notepads around to use and who wouldn't want to dress them up? Here is one I did recently:

I used the single Butterfly Accent and Vintage Vogue. The smaller butterfly came from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit. The DSP came from Welcome Neighbor Paper Pad. I also added a bit of DSP to the pen to make a matching set. These are always quick and easy for gifts so I regularly keep notepads around the house just for this purpose. Happy Stamping!!

Treat Cup and Color Announcement

I have the treat cups since they came out with the last mini catalog and I have never done anything with them!! I know crazy since there have been so many cute things done with them.

I made this baby treat holder with the treat cups and Something Sweet stamp set. The certainly celery piece slides over to open the hidden trap door that releases the candy.

On other news (if you haven't heard already) Stampin' Up! is revolutionizing our color collection!! I know huge news right!! I love the new colors they are adding. I do have to say there are a few colors I'm sad to see go and of course I will have to stock up on them, feel free to visit my SU! website to place your order today! But don't worry they will still be around for a couple more months! You can click on the pictures to make them larger.

Happy Stamping!!

Bunny Fun

Here is the last one hopefully you have found them inspiring for next year!

This one used the Chocolate Bunny again, which was embossed with clear embossing powder. I used Pale Plum, Perfect Plum and Soft Suede as the color combo. The card base I ran through the big shot with the Textured Impression Perfect Polka Dots folder. The saying was done with Well Scripted. To top it off added some soft suede ribbon and some vintage brads. Happy Stamping!

Notepad Holder

This project I made for my secret sister so hopefully I won't be giving myself away here. On the inside there is a notepad on one side and on the other several different post it note pads, so it opens up like a folder. Hopefully she found it useful!

I used the in colors as my base and the stamp set is A Good Egg. I crimped a piece of Rich Razzleberry after using the scallop trim punch along one end. The egg was embossed with clear embossing powder and then I sprinkled glitter before it cooled. Underneath the Happy Easter saying you may notice some mini eggs I did in versamark and you may not recognize it. I made it with left over rubber and my Baskets and Blooms die. I just placed the left over rubber over the flower and ran it through my big shot creating my own stamps. Happy Easter!

Mini Easter

Here is another mini card

This one was made with A Good Egg. For the glittery look on the bottom shell I embossed with clear embossing powder and then sprinkled silver glitter while it was still warm. Happy Stamping!

Happy Easter

I don't know about you all but Easter sure creeped up on me! So a little late I'll be sharing the different cards I made for this Easter season over the next few days!

This is a mini card made with the Chocolate Bunny from the mini catalog. We embossed it with clear embossing powder over Chocolate Chip ink. We then sponged Really Rust into the groves to give it a rich chocolate look. The DSP is from Cottage Wall which we used the scallop trim punch on along the edge. The flower is from Vintage Vogue and the Easter saying is from Well Scripted.

Hope you are all enjoying the day with your family! Happy Easter!

Faux Alligator

This last project was also created by Judi, which was inspired by another friend of hers. This is a 3x3 purse holder made using the faux alligator technique. I haven't used this technique since I made the Father's Day briefcase last year.

The scallop circle flips up to open the purse. We used the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt to decorate. It is wide enough to fit 4 3x3 and envelopes inside with room to spare. I'll be back with sharing cards and such that I've created in the post .... I've been trying to get my Artisan projects done so I'm glad I've had these to share these projects in the meantime!! Off to see if I can finish before the deadline!!

Happy Stamping!

First Easel Card

Here is the first Easel card that I made. Judi is the one that shared it with us and I believe she got the idea from another gal.

I like the deep colors of this card and looks so rich in person. Happy Stamping!
