Just Beach

When I saw this set in the mini I knew I had to have it just because of that jeep! Here the one and only card I have seemed to make with it though:

I figure after this summer I will use it a bit more since it is perfect for some of the summer activities we will be doing. Happy Stamping!

White Space

I'm not typically a person who likes a lot of white in the background ... it just seems to bright. I did this challenge which was create a card with lots of white space. I tell you it was DIFFICULT!! But I really did like the result:

So what do you think?

Speaking of white space ... as I just noticed in changing my blog background that's just what I did. Do you like the new look or was the other one better? I really can't decide because like I said I'm not a big fan of white but sometimes the photo really clashed, hence why I changed it. Well anyways .... Happy Stamping!

Basket and Blooms

When the big shot first came out I bought the Baskets and Blooms die. I made this little project with it but haven't been able to share it. Didn't want to give myself away as it was a gift for my secret sis.

I used Raspberry Tart paper and added the butterfly from the Dream De Jour stamp set. It was a fun little project. Happy Stamping!!

Technique Tuesday - Enlarging your Matchbox Die

I just love the matchbox die, you can use it for a ton of different things. One complaint I've heard about it is that it's a little too small. I have never thought this BUT when I heard that I started thinking. Now I'm sure I'm not the first to have thought of this but here is how I made a larger box using the Matchbox Die. (I want to apologize for the quality of color in my photos, my lighting has been terrible.)

First start by folding a piece of cardstock in half. This particular piece is 51/4 x 8 before I folded it, so folded it measures 51/4 x 4.

Place your cardstock over your matchbox die. Make sure your fold is on the inside. One end should cover the flap folds but the other side will NOT be covered. Create your sandwich and run it through the big shot as you normally would.

When you have it cut and open it up it will look like this. I did have to trim the other side a bit but if you add a shim it should cut through both layers a little better.

Put together your box as you normally would. Since it is a little larger I did tape down the flaps, which you don't normally need to do.

Now to make the cover. You will need to do this without the Big Shot but it is really easy. My enlarged matchbox base now measures 43/4. So I cut my cardstock/DSP to be 47/8x6. For the score lines I just measured around my base. Score at 3/4, 2 3/4, 3 1/2, and 5 1/2.

Fold your cover as you normally would taping down the flap. Decorate as you like and all done!!

Hope you found this tutorial useful and if you use this tutorial don't forget to come back and post a link so I can see all of your ideas!! Happy Stamping!!

Granted it looks okay BUT so not what I wanted or liked. SO I made this one:

Okay it's much better but still not what I was going for .... maybe it's just the stamp set and not me. At least that's what I hope is the problem because I still have to make my cards for the blog hop on Friday!?! Better get to it!! Happy Stamping!

A Card, the Last Chance List and Blog Hop info

I'm a few days behind ... actually it feels like I am weeks behind. Stampin' Up! has released the Last Chance List. So I have added that info to my right side bar. Lots of great stamp and this month will be your last chance to order them. Don't forgot about the current mini catalog this is the last month for those orders as well!! Don't miss out!!

Here is a card I made using the Great Friend set in the mini catalog.

I am so going to miss these colors!! I'm sure I will grow to love the new in colors as much.

If you remember a few weeks back Stampin' Addicts had their first ever blog hop. Well guess what ... we are gearing up for another one just as fun as the last one!!

The tour begins at noon on June 13th and runs through midnight on the June 16th. Be sure to check it out!!

I think I am done playing with my blog, I added a side, changed out my banner, added a few other things. So hope you all like the changes.

BTW just wanted to let you know that my son is doing much better ... Thanks for asking! Happy Stamping!!

I'm not ....

a bold brights kinda girl. They were one of the first colors packs I got because it was the color family that had purple in it, but I rarely use it. So I pushed myself to use those colors.

So what do you think? I like how it came out. I brayered glossy card stock then stamped my fish over it. Quick and simple but it still looks cute!! Happy Stamping!
