Happy Birthday!
It was my Youngest Son's 11th Birthday on Sunday and because of work and a few other scheduling things he actually had his birthday party the previous weekend. I can assure you he didn't mind at all ... and still wanted to do something else for his birthday! So anyways here is the card I made him:
He loves baseball and soccer and is currently playing them both .... keeping us all busy going from one to the other!! So his card reflects that!! I also made it in red because that's his favorite color!! Happy Stamping!
This is the front of the card.
This is the inside of the card. I went a little overboard but hey that's what Mom's do right?!

Stampin' Addicts Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop - Extreme Skateboard
Welcome to Stampin' Addicts Sale-A-Bration bog hop!! Right now Stampin' Up is offering a super deal with every $50 dollars you spend you get to pick a free set out of the Sale-A-Bration catalog. I wait for this sale every year!! Those of us over at Stampin' Addicts put together this fantastic hop featuring sets from that catalog.
If you are following the hop in order than you have just come from Yapha's Rubber Stamping & Card Making where she features the set Bear Hugs, she always has the cutest things!! I am sharing creations I made using the Extreme Skateboard stamp.
This first card I created was more typical of this set and a more traditional layout. This was my son's favorite card ... he thought it was pretty cool!
If you noticed the skateboard figure faces the other direction. To do this I inked the stamp with my marker and stamped it onto the clear sheet I use with my stamp-a-ma-jig and then transferred that onto my cardstock. I then used my aqua painter to spread the ink to fill in the image. It gave it a cool texture!
This next card is non-traditional and NOT my usual design or style but I had a lot of fun making it!! And what kind of skater girl wouldn't love it?!?
My son wasn't too sure about this one ... he said it was too girlie. That was the point so mission accomplished!! On the base of the card I used my Lots of Love letterpress and if you click on the picture for a larger view you can see it better. I also used the set Dreams du Jour.
This is the first and last project I created for this hop and again something I created by stepping out of the box a bit.

It's a mini expandable file folder holder! Way cool huh!? I plan on writing advice for each "category" for my son. To add the flourishes on the end of the tabs I just used my stamp-a-ma-jig to add the bottom part of the three little words stamp. I also used the Live, Laugh, Love stamp for this project as well as Three Little words which are both sale-a-bration sets.
I hope you enjoyed the projects I shared and don't forget to continue on the rest of the blog hop!! The next stop is Holly's Ink Paper Stamps where she is featuring one of my favorite sets Forest Friends.

Throwback Tursday - Just Soccer
Since I live in a household full of guys (even our pets are male) I get every sports set that SU has made over the years and I still find occasions to use them! I was in need of a treat holders to go with my Son's soccer Coach's card.

I made the box using box #2 die and my big shot! I grunged it up with the Extreme Elements set before I put it together. I then put two boxes together to create the crate that would hold their goodies. Then I just added some ribbon and the focal point and you have a great little gift to give!! Happy Stamping!!

Throwback Thursday - Just Soccer
Here is another Throwback Thursday this time using the set Just Soccer. I actually have another project to share using this stamp set that I will show at another time. Here is a card I made for my son's AYSO soccer Coach.
The one above I thought was missing something so I added the stars from Extreme Elements to create the one below.
The silver ribbon and white brads are from my hoarding over the years so everything is still 100% Stampin' Up! Happy Stamping!

Almost Artisan Project #2
I wanted to include a masculine card in my projects so I came up with this little beauty!

I really loved how this card came out and at the time it was a card I would not normally put together and now I like to layer more. That's the great thing about this contest it really pushes to be your best! I used Extreme Elements and Extreme Snowboard. I stamped in versamark the larger background stamp from extreme elements behind the guy to make it look like snow spray and then embossed it with iridescent ice; it made a really cool effect! The snowflakes are cut with my big shot and snowflakes #2. I think I will be using this same concept on my snow play pictures if and when I scrapbook them! Happy Stamping!!

Stampin' Addicts Last Chance Blog Hop - Just Sports

If you are just joining the hop I'll lead you to the next stop at the end of this post. If not then you just came from Debra's Heartfelt Inkspiration and saw all the great projects using Nursery Necessities.
I was bummed when I saw the retiring list and saw they were phasing out all the cute little sports sets ... having two boys this are very well used in my house! I picked Just Baseball, Just Soccer and Just Basketball to showcase today.
This first card I made with Just Soccer:
This next card was made using Just Baseball ... one of my favorite sets!
I wanted this one to have the worn out look so I distressed the base and the not quite navy cardstock pieces. I also used my big shot to emboss the lines on the base. Added the hat with the saying and topped it off with some buttons! I love how it turned out!!
Here is my last project, it use Just Basketball and the Big Shot.
It's my favorite of this trio. I made the card holder using the box #2 die and cutting out 2 which I taped back to back. I decorated the outside of the box and made then matching 3x3 cards.
Hope you enjoyed the projects I shared today and now hop on over to to check out the next stop which is Melissa's Fun Time Stampin' and she is using my favorite all time stamp set ever JUST JAWING!! Happy Stamping!

Bowling please!
My youngest son is turning 10 today .... where has all the time gone?? This year for his birthday again he wanted to have a bowling birthday party. So I came up with this little invite!

I rarely ever make shaped cards ... I don't know why they are pretty easy but I tend to stay away from them. I figured this was a good time to make one since I could shape it as a bowling ball. I took my big shot and with a folded piece of cardstock and sat it across the circle die with the folded edge near the top but not completely. I then embossed the tops with clear embossing powder ... after all bowling balls are shiny right? Then I used the 3/4 circle punch to make the finger holes. Then I used dimensionals to attach a darker cardstock behind to give it that added depth. I busted out my old Have a Ball stamp set to make pins and added the your invited on a strip of cardstock I shaped to the card with silver brads. On the inside I used the matching invitation info which was also from and old stamp set called Dot Invitation. Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday!
Today my oldest son turns 14. Every year he gets older I wonder more and more where has the time gone. He is definitely not my little boy anymore ... he looks so grown up already. Matter of fact he is now officially taller than I am standing at 5'10".
It's hard to make cards for a teenage boy but here is his Birthday Card I made him:

He loves to skateboard so I figured Extreme Skateboard would be the perfect image. With boy cards you can't use glitter or other fun things but I did add a bit of ribbon AND I misted Platinum shimmer paint onto both the Night of Navy and Brocade Blue cardstock pieces. I also ran the Bordering Blue piece through my big shot using the #4 texturz plate, it's the one is the random lines. Happy Stamping!

Choo Choo 6x6
I love the train sets we get and always buy them ... each on we have had for the last five years. I really like the style of this one. It's a good thing I haven't scrapped my boys younger years yet because they will be very handy!

My scrap pages are usually very simple because I want the pictures to be the main focal point and the scrapping to just enhance them. I free handed and cut the balls to add to the one train piece. Happy Stamping!

Where oh where ...
has my mojo gone? Do you all ever have those days where no matter what you make just doesn't turn out quite right?? Case in point:
Granted it looks okay BUT so not what I wanted or liked. SO I made this one:
Okay it's much better but still not what I was going for .... maybe it's just the stamp set and not me. At least that's what I hope is the problem because I still have to make my cards for the blog hop on Friday!?! Better get to it!! Happy Stamping!

Stamper's Showcase
As a Stampin' Up! demo is is always exciting to see your work list on the SU demo website. So I was quite excited to see my card listed today!!

I originally made this card for a WOW card swap I did for convention in July. I tossed an extra one in the baskets while I was there. So imagine my surprise when it finally showed up today! If you want to see how I made the card you can click on Faux Flannel under labels for a past tutorial.
