Stampin' Addicts Fall Hop - Frightful Wreath

Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts 2014 Fall Holiday Blog Hop!  We have a ton of awesome ideas to share with you!  Be prepared to be adding items to your gotta have it list!!  If you are following the hop in order you just came from Kim's site Stitchin' n Stampin' on Paper where she shared some fantastic projects using Season Snapshots by Project Life!!  If you starting here that's okay too as we are all linked together so you will not miss a single stop!

I am showcasing the Frightful Wreath kit ... when they showed this at convention I knew this was the first thing I had to make.  You all know how much I love Halloween and it has a super cute purple spider!  Below is a picture of how the wreath looks if you complete the project as directed.

They next couple of pictures are the guts of the kit and as you can see it comes with everything you need to make it except for adhesive.  I would recommend a hot glue gun to really hold the pieces together.  The picture on the right is a shot of the directions that are included. They are super easy to follow!!

I decided I wanted to try something slightly different with my kit mostly because I wanted my little spider to be the center of attention! Below is my creation!

I love how it came out!! I moved the lolly off to the side so I could hang the spider down the center and he sparkles just so!  I also trimmed the silver web down to that I had a slimmer web and to add a bit of color I weaved the included ribbon around the inside edge.  Below are a close up of the lolly and the spider.

Lastly I wanted to share a card I created using some of the left over pieces I add the only thing I added was the silver paper base and a scrap of elegant eggplant paper.  Cute huh?!

Vintage Florals - Beautiful Bunch

When the new catalog came out I knew I had to have the new flower set called Beautiful Bunch!  I also loved that Stampin' Up! created a matching punch for this set called Fun Flower!!  Talk about making cutting out these flowers a snap!

This card uses the stamp set and coordinating punch I mentioned above but also uses one of our new In Colors Lost Lagoon.  This color looks stunning with crumb cake as shown here and has a perfect tone for the vintage look.  If you look closely you will also notice I used a few other new goodies; the fun frames embossing folder as well as a snippet the baked brown sugar think baker's twine!

I shared this card during one of my recent workshops and I like how you can keep it simple like the card on the left or if you want to step it up you can add a little extra bling to it like the one on the right.  Both look great!!  Happy Stamping!!

Halloween Wreath Class

The Beauty of Neutrals

 Over on Split Coast Stampers we are almost done with our August Creative Crew gone wild challenges!  My challenge to everyone this month was to take a step back to when it wasn't all about color and create a project using only our neutral color family.  You could add any accessory or embellishment you liked but still had to be in the same color family! So there was still plenty of bling to choose from!   Here is my masterpiece!

For my card I used Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla as my color scheme. The stamp set is one of my all time favorites ... Papillon Potpourri!!  For me it was the accessories that really made this card pop!!  They were the wide burlap ribbon, neutral chevron ribbon, linen thread, and vintage faceted buttons. And no project is complete without using the big shot; the decorative dots and fun frames embossing folders added just the right texture!.

Convention Goodies

Every year for convention I make a gift for my roommate.   I've been lucky to have the same roommate for the last 4 years and she is the best roomie!  This year we coincidently gave each other similar gifts.  We used the small wood boxes for our creations.  That's how much we think alike! 

My gift is the one on the top of the above picture.   I used the stamp set caked Oh My Goodies and the DSP is called Lullaby.  Even though we choose the same type gift the inside was completely different!  Mine is the one on the left and was full of goodies!  On the right she filled it with post it notes and a pen, which was perfect for note taking!

Convention Display Boards - Hispanic Night

 One of the events I usually attend is Hispanic Night.  It's always a fun time and this year was no exception.  The following boards are the examples they used for the Hispanic boards.

 The next couple are some of the 3D ideas they shared.  The one on the right use one of my favorite sets that can only be found in the Hispanic catalog; the set is called Quinceanera.  In real life they were extremely sparkly and were amazing!!

During the event they had a little contest that was quite funny. Each of us started a card and then passed it on to the next person when told and then you had to add something to the card.  We passed it around several times until the time was up. The picture below on the right were the cards that my table mates and I created.

 One of the other activities we did was spending a little time to Salsa and Cha Cha and let me tell you I have definitely have two left feet!!  It was a ton of fun though!!

Display Boards - Convention Sets

 The next set of display boards I would like to share are the ones based on the free sets we received for attending convention Kinda Eclectic, Amazing Birthday, Seasonally Scattered and Project Life.

I love all the different ideas you get from the display boards. There are so many different styles, techniques, layouts and color combos so there is almost always something you can get inspiration from.  Happy Stamping!!
